Re: Kioti Isn\'t Worth the Risk
This is the thread that wouldn't die!
The resale thing is a red herring. I was very concerned about resale, as this is a major investment for me and with the present job situation in this country, you never know when you'll be out of a job. BUT - tractors are not like cars, in that the resale value is mostly depenent on capability and condition, not style. For the same money as a B-series Kubota I got a much bigger & more powerful tractor (LK3054).
I don't plan on selling it, but if I have to, I expect it would compete well with used B-series Kubotas in the used market. Why? Beacuse it is still a more powerful and capable tractor. And if I had to sell it, I will have been able to get more projects done with the tractor in the time I have it, which means I'm getting more for my investment, not less.
Do you really want to give several thousand dollars to a tractor manufacturer for them to keep until you decide to sell, in the hope (not guarenteed) that some of it will be returned? That does not seem to be a wise investment.
If it were of notably poorer quality, it might be different, but that is not the case. If the Kioti brand continues to grow in popularity, then then the resale value of Kioti tractors will go up. The CUT market appears to be hot in general right now, which means good sales for all the mfrs, and increased brand recognition for Kioti. So in a few years time it is quite possible that the extra money you spend for a Kubota today will be a complete loss.
