OK I was looking at the loader serial number. The tractor s/n starts with N, and ends in 12. Wow.
A couple of inputs here on your observations. My comparison of loader response between my DK35se and a DK40se on the dealers lot. My DK35se is much faster. In my opinion here is why: The DK40se loader has much larger cylinders and lifts a lot more. The pump is nearly the same specs. Therefore my skinnier cylinders fill with fluid faster. Is it noticeable? yes, is it a problem? no. I suspect you JD loader either has smaller cylinders or more flow from the pump or both.
Thanks for the input. I know the Deere has a regen function that is different than the Kioti. There are 2 settings for the loader regen; one for general purpose loader use, and the other is designed for faster dump time (I don't know the technical descriptions...) that you set it on mainly when doing a lot of bucket work/dumping. Either way, I'm all in now and even if the Kioti proves a bit slower on both the loader and pedal, I will adjust. I told the wife the same thing James that each manufacturer is built a little different. There are many positives over the Deere though with the functionality of the tractor design, all of which I will address later on when I do a head to head comparison with the Deere.
I also noticed my DK35se pedal response going from forward to reverse was also a little slower than the Kubota L3400 hydro tractor I traded in. Is it a problem? no. Is it different? yep. It is just the way the dampner is set up. On the more expensive Kubota Grand L series of hydrostatic equipped tractors you can adjust this response from the dashboard. From slow and smooth (like the Kioti) or neck snapping, tire sliding (literally) response. These are just my observations. Good luck with your new machine.
I feel you guys are right on about the peddle dampener. Also the the only source of heat to thin that fluid in the dampening cylinder is some friction from use and ambient temp. I'm sure the fwd rev response times will be faster in the warmer months.
