OK I was looking at the loader serial number. The tractor s/n starts with N, and ends in 12. Wow.

Pretty neat, I really like having the multi use of the bucket with out having to switch back and forth for small jobs or not having to run back and forth switching buckets.

Well boys, I just pulled the trigger and ordered a brand, spankin' new nx6010 hst cab!!! Kind of scary on how much coin this thing cost, but I believe it was probably about 10k less than the comps with all the same options. I went and test drove the one they had last week and after learning the serial numbers from Eric, I learned that it had an NN number which should have been a 2013. I told him I didn't want that one and he is getting a new one tomorrow! I am really hoping that the 'new' one is not still a left over from the first 2013 line that has been sitting at their NC headquarters for 2 years.... Keeping my fingers crossed on that. But either way, it will be mine now..... Wish me luck with the loaded up unit and the new mortgage payment!!!

Oh, I forgot to share the test drive; put a good half hour on the machine digging frozen snow, ice and some gravel and sod... Pushed her pretty hard to get a sense of the power and response of the loader functions. I found that the hydraulics were noticeably slower than the John Deere. The forward and revers had a pretty serious 'pause' before it started moving. I tried killing it on purpose but could not, but it did slightly stall. Tried the anti stall function and it worked well. There were literally zero hours on it so it is my hope that the pedal pause could be a result of the thing being extremely new, sitting for a year and perhaps after some break in will be a little more responsive. I did adjust the hst pedal speed and noticed some difference on forward movement, but not a complete remedy. The bucket dump/curl was pretty slow. However, it did speed up some after a good warm up. But, still much slower than the Deere. I still decided that the few seconds of 'potential' (cause it is somewhat unscientific) loss were to be worth the money saved, and having a great dealer nearby who I know will take care of my and the unit. I forgot to try out its climbing ability, after remembering that Eric made mention of that somewhere so I went back out to the lot and fired her up again. I then took one of the 10 or 12 foot high snow/ice mounds from the parking lot and packed it down a little with the bucket. I then began climbing (very slowly, cause it was steep!)... I climbed in both mid range and low. Had to lock in the rear diff due to the lack of traction from the snow. After doing that she climbed and wanted to go all the way up that mound!!! I was not about to take her too steep though, and end up dumping her on her back!! I accomplished my test in that I wanted to see the power and 'real use' traction as climbing is very important. I wanted to see if it would stall out and/or just lose power, but it seemed that it will climb just fine. Overall, obviously, I decided to go ahead with the order. The dealer really helped make the decision easy, as he gave me a good deal and is very well known for his great service (Little Tractor, Metropolis, IL). He is now the largest Kioti volume dealer in the country. So, in a bout a week he'll have it ready, deliver it right to my door with the exception of the 4 in 1 bucket. He will have the front 3rd function installed, but the bucket will take 3 weeks as they have to build it after the order. I'll keep ya'll posted!!!!!

Thanks for the review. My NX6010CH (#12 according to the serial number) should be here tomorrow. I'll have to see if I notice the same things you did. I do know that on paper, JD has very fast cycle times.

A couple of inputs here on your observations. My comparison of loader response between my DK35se and a DK40se on the dealers lot. My DK35se is much faster. In my opinion here is why: The DK40se loader has much larger cylinders and lifts a lot more. The pump is nearly the same specs. Therefore my skinnier cylinders fill with fluid faster. Is it noticeable? yes, is it a problem? no. I suspect you JD loader either has smaller cylinders or more flow from the pump or both.

I also noticed my DK35se pedal response going from forward to reverse was also a little slower than the Kubota L3400 hydro tractor I traded in. Is it a problem? no. Is it different? yep. It is just the way the dampner is set up. On the more expensive Kubota Grand L series of hydrostatic equipped tractors you can adjust this response from the dashboard. From slow and smooth (like the Kioti) or neck snapping, tire sliding (literally) response. These are just my observations. Good luck with your new machine.

FWIW, when I bench-raced specs last spring, the Kioti NX6010 had a higher GPM flow to the not power steering and HST than the Deere 4066R. I believe the slight pause in direction is the eHST doing its thing to protect itself.

I feel you guys are right on about the peddle dampener. Also the the only source of heat to thin that fluid in the dampening cylinder is some friction from use and ambient temp. I'm sure the fwd rev response times will be faster in the warmer months.

Thanks for the input. I know the Deere has a regen function that is different than the Kioti. There are 2 settings for the loader regen; one for general purpose loader use, and the other is designed for faster dump time (I don't know the technical descriptions...) that you set it on mainly when doing a lot of bucket work/dumping. Either way, I'm all in now and even if the Kioti proves a bit slower on both the loader and pedal, I will adjust. I told the wife the same thing James that each manufacturer is built a little different. There are many positives over the Deere though with the functionality of the tractor design, all of which I will address later on when I do a head to head comparison with the Deere.

On my tractor, I'm adding 10 degrees to the fluid through the three rear remote valves as measured externally with a pyrometer aimed at the valve casting from top to bottom. Slightly more heat is build up at max rpm running through the D03 sub plate for my third function on the way to the three point and rear remotes. The last time I fired up and it was about 5 degrees F outside, the hydros made noise for about first 45 seconds, then warmed up enough to quiet down. Anyway, my hydros warm up in the winter without need to cycle.
