The Bota will bring more money down the road should you decide to sell.

Ronnie

I am not seeing this around here at all.

Don't know the Kioti, but the MX is one tough tractor. You won't be disappointed.

People say this, and it's simply wishful thinking. I bought a new LS R4047H for $21,250, put over 200 hours on it, and sold it for $19,500. A Kubota, or Deere, wouldn't have held any more of the initial purchase price, but would have cost $10K more to start out with.

Further, the biggest drop in value comes when the machine rolls off the lot when new, so the Kubota is going to lose more. The Kioti has already had that happen.

Lastly, the Kioti is a heck of a lot more machine, for $10K less. For all of Kubota's "Special Utility" description, the MX series is nowhere near the machine some of the members here seem to think they are. They're simply CUTs on the large size, but not the largest, not the most powerful, don't have the best loaders, have terrible ergonomics on the loader controls....and they cost more than more refined machines, with greater capability from other manufacturers.

The RX Kioti is a true Utility machine and it's got a cab to top things off....much nicer all around. 500 hours is really nothing on a machine like this...barely past the break in period.

All things considered... assuming the used Kioti is in good condition...

If you're not looking for HST (hydrostatic) as a transmission choice, then there is no good reason to spend $10k for less tractor and no cab.

If you DO want a hydrostatic trans... then I would suggest that you shop around at other brands, as you can get a whole lot more "bang for your buck," for less money, than that MX. It's a nice enough tractor, but it's overpriced compared to other options in the market.

Good luck

TSO, that's exactly the route that I took. It was hard for me to deviate from Kubota (my B7800 has been an amazing machine- I doubt that I'll ever find that I'm as impressed with anything like I've been with this tractor). The MX5100/MX5200 didn't have the right ergonomics for me (my shoulder has had it with the loader control out in front); had it not been for that I might be running one now (even sans cab). That caused me to consider the Kioti; I wasn't considering a cab until I figured that for a mere $3k more I could get one.

I would not say the MX as a machine is overpriced. Though I don't know what a new one costs.

In this particular comparison, a new MX vs a 500hr kioti
......you are always gonna get more machine for your money buying used. So THAT particular MX is overpriced. But look around. A 500 hr MX should be $10k toe other side of that kioti. (20k). Which makes the kioti $10k more, for about $10k worth of cab/more machine. Which would be a better apples to apples comparison

What happened to the Kubota resale value?:)

If you compare the size (same as competing "large frame CUT's"), capacities (in line with, and in many cases below, other large frame CUT's), features (in line with or below other large frame CUT's), etc etc.......... Then the MX offerings are overpriced in their segment.

It's a nice machine, I'm not knocking it.

But, for the sake of pricing (since the OP mentioned price), assuming he has dealer options near him, he can get a comparable, competitive machine for much less money.

The OP could get a brand new Kioti NX5510 open station, which offers stronger front and rear lift than the MX, better equipped than the MX, for probably $5k-10k less.... And still have the "new" tractor warranty.

Just for argument's sake.....

I am not one to even bring up resale. 20 years ago, when JD and kubota were the large CUT and SCUT players, maybe. But anymore, kioti, mahindra, LS, etc are all top notch brands. And with the internet, and research being right at ones fingertips, quickly weeds out bad brands/models.

Perhaps.

But I think there is alot of misconception in this thread.

First, I have no idea what a NX5510hst open station cost in comparison to a MX. Unless kioti has something on their website I am overlooking.

Second, you are assuming that the 40k for the new mx5100 that the op told you was accurate. Well, fact-checking.....I think that is either total BS, or we are missing something. Like was that price quoted with a bunch of attachments or a backhoe? The MX5100 for starters, is not a new model. But the replacement, the MX5200, HST, equipped with a loader and HD roundback bucket, only lists a MSRP of $34k and change on build-my-kubota. So its probably a $30k tractor.

What can one buy a NX5510 HST open station with loader for? Tractorhouse would seem to indicate they are $36-37k with a cab? Take the cab off you think they are still gonna be 5-10k less than an MX? That would have to put them in the $20-$25k range, and Im just not seeing it.

As to comparisons....yea, the MX is not a luxury model. One of the reasons in fact that I like it. I like the features like telescoping links and stabilizers, but not fond of lots of electronics. But to each their own. The NX is about 400-500# more tractor and does have a stronger 3PH. But the MX 3PH can lift 2400#. 99.9% of NX owners would probably never exceed that. As to the loader, I'd call it a wash. The NX certainly dont have a "stronger" loader.

Right... Agreed on assumptions... I'm not going necessarily by his started $40k price. That could be Canadian dollars.

Around me, I can get a new Kioti NX5510 HST open station with loader for around $25k and around $30k with cab. Kioti also has a new model, DK5510, that competes directly with the MX line (more of a bare bones model, like the MX is to the Grand L) and I believe my dealer sells that for around $22.5k in open station HST

Around me, the MX5200 (or equivalent new model designator) HST open station with loader, goes for around $28k-$33k depending on dealer.

Also... Cleck the specs... The Kioti loader for that model is 10-15% stronger than the loader on the MX.
