I'm sorry for not being clearer, I guess in times like this it would be far easier and faster to include a picture or two!
We do have places that will test batteries. The stupid thing is, every time battery load testers come on sale at our local hardware stores, I think about buying one and never do which is silly because they come on for $30. Well, I can guarantee I'll be buying one next time I see one in the flyer!
Thanks again for everyone's help and input.
I read this whole thread in hopes I could find a possible hint of what my CK30HST is doing. No Luck.
My tractor seems to work 100% but then randomly I will turn the key and get "the click". This is after the glow plug finishes, I wait a few seconds and turn the key. Sometimes it starts immediately, and (like I said) randomly just clicks. When the "click" happens I turn the key off, wait a about 15 seconds and turn it again. Sometimes it starts PERFECTLY and then again randomly it will click again. If the tractor "clicks" it will usually start on the next key turn. I always wait for the glow plug light comes on (if it does) until it goes off. Never jump the gun. My CK30 is about 13 years old and has a new battery (exactly what it came with) installed about 9 months ago. When it does start after the initial "click" I don't think it turns over one complete revolution before it is running. Acts as it did brand new.
All maintenance has been kept up. Tractor looks Brand New. Now all of that was a mouth full. Not sure if it's a failing key switch, starter or solenoid. I read somewhere on this form that there was a lot of talk about key switches and Kioti tractors.
So... does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this kind of issue?
Try Highgear's advice before doing anything invasive.
Give several shots of WD-40 in the keyhole (through the little straw with key out) and then stick in the key and cycle it through the positions several times. I fact, I recommend folks do this annually as preventative maintenance.
The switch is not that hard to replace or disassemble-and-clean but WD works just as well. Plus it's cheap, fast, and easy. If you want to know what's inside the switch go here: https://kioti.ddns.net/ignition_switch.html
