Unless its written into their warranty document they can tell you to pound salt- not saying they will, but most warranties exclude any agreement outside the actual document whether written or spoken.

Earlier I was probably incorrect in saying that Kioti might void your warranty for using an aftermarket implement. What I should have said is they could deny coverage for damage caused to your tractor as a result of a non-Kioti impliment.

I'm sure if it is their policy to warranty both attachment and tractor that it is written into their warranty policy, at least one would assume it is.

BCD, some thoughts from "outside the box". You are talking about $8K right? Have you looked around at used backhoe's lately? The market is still down for heavy equipment and it might make more sense to buy a used 'hoe. The benefits are many, easier to work, larger work station, stronger more powerful hydraulics, not having to crawl around under hooking and un-hooking, less down time(spin the chair around to move forward)....etcetc.

I have used a TLB(neighbors JD 65 horse), and I was not impressed. The work station is tiny(then again I'm 6'4) and I had to be real careful not to crush my knee when retracting the boom, it is an absolute pain in the arse to hook up and disconnect(yes it has a subframe), to move the tractor you have to climb down, climb up, then back down and back up{whew}.

All I am saying that the TLB is a lot more time consuming to operate than a regular backhoe, so it's just something to kick around.

Ya I know you can find used stuff around that's gonna be more machine for the money but I really don't have room for another machine and I'm not going to be in the excavating business with it, maybe some small side job type stuff on weekends would be the most major thing, also I work in the construction industry and I see what kind of shape many machines are in when my company finally decides to send them to auction, it is not pretty, lol. I'm not a big diesel mechanic so I don't want the headaches and sloppy worn out hoes. I have used a 6 ft bush hog hoe on a 30 hp New Holland and I am 6ft 1in and 300 lbs and I didn't have trouble with room on that machine, though it surely wasn't comfy as operating a 420 Cat with electric over hydraulic controls.

I have a DK45SE w/ the Kioti backhoe -- love it! Have dug lots of stuff. No complaints, except that I've had to beef up part of the subframe mount after a small horizontal brace failed. Easily fixed and I can post pics of what broke if anyone thinks it's relevant to buying a Kioti backhoe.

I also have an old Case 580C backhoe. It was purchased before the Kioti and I regret it. A diesel mechanic looked at it and said it was sound, no problems. Within a few months I had to do an upper and lower engine rebuild, replace oil pump, water pump, etc., etc. I didn't even have a chance to dig up anything with it. We call it "Satan" around here. Can't sell it easily, so I'm giving it to my F-I-L so he can play with it on his acreage. (Bought it for $6000 and spent $14000 just getting it to run OK. Great deal, huh? But a dead tractor is almost worthless.) Stay away from old/used backhoes unless you really know what you're doing!!!!!!

My thoughts exactly. If ur a mechanic and have access to parts and the knowledge to fix everything that can possibly go wrong then go for a used backhoe, but I won't do it cuz I'm no mechanic and my personal experience leads me down the road you just described when it comes to used equipment. I would never buy anything from the company I work for, no way, the stuff is so worn out by the time they finally decide to sell its ridiculous.

I am a fairly competant mechanic and have all of the tools for most any repair and know where parts can be had cheap and IMHO it is still not worth it. My time is too valuable to me anymore.
