Kioti vs Kubota

/ Kioti vs Kubota #21
Hello Humble, it is really not fair to compare the the ck 30 to the L3130 as the kubota is a 32 hp machine and the kioti is a 30hp. That said the performance of the two machines will be much more similar then comparing the ck30 to the b3030 kubota, which the kioti will easily out perform. The L3130 does out perform the the ck30 in 3 point lift, but thats the only area where youll really notice a difference. Both machines will use the same size implements as far as box blades , rotary or finish mowers goes. The standard loader on the L3130 is the 513 which is very similar to the ck 30s k130 in performance. But the kioti gives a much better viewing platform while doing loader work. It is true if you upgrade to the 723 loader on the kubota you will get a much greater capacity in the loader department but you can always put a woods 1012 loader on the kioti as i did and you will get just as much performance as the 723 loader on the kubota. Dont forget there is a 3000 dollar price difference between these two machines. The Kioti puts out one of the highest hydrolic outputs of any 30 hp machine at 2560 psi. If your local dealer is a kioti and you feel comfortable with him by all means dont be afraid of the kioti, Its a very strong and reliable machine. There is nothing wrong with the L3400 as well but you wil get many more standard features with the kioti. Both brands are very good quality ... Good luck

This comparison is basicly what I found also when comparing the Kioti DK45S, to the NHs. At first I was putting the Kioti DK45S along side the NH 35/40/45 frame machine. This was just the hp to hp compare. The Kioti was definetily a good buy to that. Then I stacked the Kioti DK45S to the NH TC48 frame size, and compared. To my own opinion, the NH, even at several $K more, was a hands down winner. Mostly due to it's loader design, and loader lifting capacity. The NH bucket was huge compared to the Kioti, and the NH should have been priced accordingly. The NH dealer support was also a consideration, and now with a warrenty issue. The barely leaking radiator, which Antitam replaced by their judgement, not mine, I'm very happy with the NH. The ergonomics of the NH loader control lever is hard to pass up. I know that Kioti is moving in that direction. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

( whole deal with the CK30 being a "loaded" model while the L3400 is a bare bones basic tractor )

The only thing "Bare bones" on the L-3400 is that is has non-extendable 3pt link arms. Other than that its lacking no features... infact, it has a few that other so called deluxe tractors don't have like a hydraulic pto clutch.

I am going to throw as monkey wrench into the mix. I spent tons of hours researching tractors before I purchased a L3400 earlier this week. The guy who owns Kioti used to work for Kubota and is now in the "pen" facing charges for patent infringement is what I have been told by my dealer as I mentioned the resemblance. Good reason why they look like a Kubota.

Better think twice about buying a Kioti if that is the case! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I would very much like to know where you got that information from, and if it is true. If it is true, this could cause great harm to the Kioti Company, and put the Kioti owners at risk for future parts, and factory support. If the infrigment is only for design looks, I'm sure not much harm will be done, but for mechanical part designs, that could be another can of worms. I don't find it funny at all. I'm going to do aweb search to see if I can find out anything.

Hey WVMapler,

I got a bridge I'd like to sell you in Brooklyn....

Does TBN have a gullability award??

This says a great deal about your dealer and not much about Kioti.

It was amazing how many rumors there was for a while and how they kept growing.

I like your comparison chart. Maybe you could do one for me so I can see if I got "cheated" in 2002 for buying the Kioti over a M6800.

I don't personally know Neil Messick or gamble77, but they sure seem like darn honest and fair dealers for either brand. They seem to sell on the strong points of their products without degrading the competitor. My hat is off to them for offering their respectful "inside" views. We need more dealers like them. Maybe they'll both open stores in my area by the time I'm ready for my next tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks everyone for all the feedback, however the two machines I'm looking at are the Kubota L 3400 HST and the Kioti CK30 HST. Lift at the 24" point is 1764 for the Ck and 1465 for the L3400. Not sure of total lift of the CK. Also no clutch involved. Weight of CK is 3055 and the L3400 is 2600. PTO 23(CK) vs. 27.5 (L3400). I still need to talk to both dealers again to get a better "feel" for them. Still a while before the big decision.

Apparently not enough hours were spent verify the information that you collected. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif One of the points I watch for when dealing with a dealer is if they bad mouth the competition. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Instead of selling their product. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I don't come back here much these days, but I see little has changed. If Kioti is involved, the Kubota partisans will be out in force. Kubota dealers aggressively hawking their brand (comparing tractors the poster did not ask about even!), the old resale gimmick, and the obligatory lawsuit rumor.

Humbleto, you can get a lot if great information on TBN, but when it comes to Kioti you'll have to post on the Kioti page to get any information. Kioti is the black-sheep brand, and you won't be able to get a straight answer in the general forums. In the end you'l have to make up your own mind.

/ Kioti vs Kubota #36
Actually, things have been pretty calm between Kubota and Kioti partisans. I just think we need to all stop responding to obvious flames or even naive ones. I should not have been so curt with WVMaple for starters.

I dare say that the reason for all the heat is that each side recognizes the benefits of the other as well as their own. Kinda like rooting (too enthusiastically) for your home team when a major rival is in town. I will say that for all the problems we've had, the Kioti/Kubota "wars" are far more civilized than Yankees/Red Sox.

Humbleto, specs will give you an idea for your needs regardless of the brand you choose, I haven't heard of a so- called STAY AWAY BRAND, what was important for me when I purchase was the dealer and which tractor I felt most comfortable on.. Have you tried these tractor yet...cag

"the two machines I'm looking at are the Kubota L 3400 HST and the Kioti CK30 HST"
-Okee dokee.

"Lift at the 24" point is 1764 for the Ck and 1465 for the L3400. Not sure of total lift of the CK."
-Total lift shouldn't matter, you found an apples to apples and I am surprized the L3400 is so low. Be sure to read up on the 3ph jerkiness complaints that L3400 owners were having. The CK 3ph is smooth.

"Weight of CK is 3055 and the L3400 is 2600."
-This isn't much and can be fixed with ballast but makes you wonder where the weight came off...

"PTO 23(CK) vs. 27.5 (L3400)."
-Pretty predictable. Similar driveline efficiency. Not a big difference though as with HST you are able to very precisely load the implement so that you are working right at the edge of the machine's capacity.

"I still need to talk to both dealers again to get a better "feel" for them."
-I hope you got prices. That is a very important comparison too.

The tractors are both of very high quality and I am starting to see some dealers carry both Kioti and Kubota.

Jerry:

Read the Kioti letter in your post. Wonder about the confidentiality part though. The letter is short and politically correct so it leaves a lot to conjecture.

Coincidentially:

A couple of years ago General Motors sued Triumph Motors, Hinkley, England for trade name infringement. They (GM) alledged that the name "Bonneville" was property of GM and that Triumph LTD could not use the name. That's funny, Triumph, Meriden, England whom all the rights were bought by the new Triumph LTD, mainly Mr. John Bloor had the Triumph Bonneville model motorcycle years before GM ever badged their car a "Bonneville".......they lost.

I have stated in the Kioti forum that I feel Kioti's largest (present but not next year) tractor is a fine unit. I'd have considered one but the pto power was a little too low for my farming needs. I wouldn't ever say anything bad about a Perkins Diesel, I have one in my Massey and it's bulletproof but then, so is Kubota's engines. Why else would most manufacturers of power equipment that utilize diesel engines use Kubota power units for power, i.e: Bobcat, Generac Power Systems, Grasshopper, etc.

I don't think you can compare a model of Kioti to a model of Kubota. It's all about what the end user wants, dealer support and price and not in any order.
