First to make this tractor related I will let you all know that I used a mini exc. to pack the dumpster /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Now I have been working night's and weekend's for the past two month's at my parent's 120 or so year old house that they had bought. They knew about 2 week's in that the existing kitchen was beyond the basic cosmetic fixes that the rest of the house got. The floor sagged alot and the ceiling height was about 6'5" and had a drop ceiling like you see in office building's plus they did not like the cabinet's so they went to the homer in DE. (no sales tax) and ordered some really nice cabinet's which they got a good deal (sales folk have a lot of give on prices). Well the cabinet's came in last week so my work begin's again. here is a before pic

Now come the real reason for this post like I said the floor sagged and was spongy. Before the demo began yoy could not see wht the floor looked like from the crawl since it was built almost on the ground. The original plan was to rip up the floor brace what was there and sister new joist next to the old and new ones in the middle but now with it open it looks easier to rip out the old and lag a new rim joist to the walls and placing all new joist sixteen in on center what do you guys think
