I wish I could make a tractor stew and have the weight and sturdy build of the Mahindra along with the big tires with the refined overall feel and look of the Kioti.

I only have 400 hours on my 5740, I had 1400 hours on my L5030 and it never spent a day in the shop.

I've often commented my ideal tractor would be an amalgam of several models and makes. My brother was giving serious consideration to Mahindra, but was not happy with the build quality and after he bought a Kioti, our only local dealer dropped the Mahindra line over what he called quality issues. He handles LS and Gehl as well as equipment. I have no personal experience with Mahindra, so I have no opinion on them; moot point for us with no dealer.

How does he like his Kioti compared to your Kubota? I have heard this before about the Mahindras.

In 2003 he recommended I buy a Kubota as a good quality tractor at a nice price point, I did so with some skepticism as it was an "off-brand" and I was surrounded by a sea of green. He has several older tractors as he can fix things quite easily. When he was looking for a new CUT he could easily haul around, he really still liked the Kubotas, but found he could get as good of or better tractor in some models for a lot less money with Kioti. He is very happy with his machine.

That's answers my question. Just scheduled a demo for a Mahindra 3550 and Kioti. The three point arms on the Kioti just look cheap and light to me but asside from that I am leaning toward keeping the Kubota or Kioti. Thanks again,
Glenn

I'll be curious as to what you decide and good luck.

I'd make a tractor stew of about every CUT out there, but that's a topic for a rainy day.

Hate to spoil the party here, but a OOS Kioti 6010 HST is going to set you back about 25 to 28K. I for one would not pay that for a Kubota 5740 with 500 hours and a replaced HST seal. You could probably get 20K for the 5740, which is going to leave you with a serious cash differential.

On the Tier 4 stuff, it's a pain, but as Eric the Oracle, who has run his NX through every possible obstacle, can attest, it doesn't seem to be a huge issue at all. I wouldn't let it sway you from a tractor you otherwise prefer.

He mentioned that they run 100% biodiesel in the Spring, Summer and Fall, and I know at least some engines with a DPF can't use biodiesel at high concentrations (like 20% max)...that might be the real issue.

GRobinson2......My concern is that this is going to happen again since according to Kubota this "happens" on the 5740 and three other models. I do not want to have to deal with that type of repair now that the warranty has run out.

What are those other models?

If I could throw a wrench in to your plans, may I suggest a Massey? A 1758 would be a nice fit for ya. I've owned LS, Kioti, Massey, and have direct experience with Kubota as well... In my opinion, the Massey is the best tractor that I've had experience with. It's very well built, and has had less problems (been practically perfect now at 528 hrs). Great hydraulics (best in class I believe). Fit and finish is top notch, better quality materials than most others, in my opinion.

I still like LS, Kioti, and Kubota (and others) ... and I wouldn't turn any of them away ... But if I was buying again today, I'd buy another Massey first.
