I'm down to these 2 models and was looking for opinions. Will be used for general maintenace ( clearing, moving fallen trees, stone work, cleaning up a 1500 ft driveway in both summer and winter although in winter i plow as well, 1/2 acre garden maintenance). Will not use for mowing as we have a lawn tractor that is acceptable. Getting a bh and loader on both - snowthrower in the future. I will be using as well as my wife. No problem with the difference in price but looking at the 3030 is out of the question. The 2620 seems to habe more comfort features but the 7800 is more bare bones but more capable. I've used mini excavators and skid steers before but have never used a compact tractor. Just looking for some thoughts before I pull the trigger.

If you are not mowing, I would opt for the 7800. You will be able to get a bigger hoe and as you said, it will be more capable should any larger tasks arise, and believe me they will.

I like my 7800! Plenty of power and a nice smooth engine:)

Add my vote for the B7800! It takes a bigger snowthrower (63" vs 51") and if you ever decide to mow with it the B7800 takes a bigger mmm as well (72" vs 60"). I hate doing both chores so the extra width is well worth it.

The B7800 is been around for some time and is proven. The B2620 is new to model year 2008, I personally try and stay away from tractors, cars, trucks, ect.. their first year.

Being in the tractor business pushing forty years there are brands that have a lot of issues with major updates with flat rates of 40 to fifty hours of work and some within thirty days of introduction! Kubota has not been one of those companies that turn out experimental stuff to allow the purchasers to be their guiena pigs!
For what you are doing it would be hard not to look at the B-7800 unless you have tight areas.
I do like the new little B-s as in our hilly terrain the three ranges are a major plus!

Art I hate to take issue with your quote, "Kubota has not been one of those companies that turn out experimental stuff to allow the purchasers to be their guiena pigs!", you ever look at the track record of the BX1850? It had more problems then the F-111 when it first came out... I got rid of mine with great pleasure at about 40 hours!

I bought the B7800 because I had faith Kubota had gotten rid of all the bugs. Glad I did. While I have not been in the tractor business for 40 years I am on my 3d Kubota and same number of JDs and I like the B7800-with telescopic lower link ends and adjustable draft arms (from the B2910 I had installed by my dealer). IMHO it is the best tractor for the money today.

B7800. I have never looked back. It will mow nicely and run a loader well.

As for snow, I'd rather have a cab.

I am not one of the guys that always says buy the next size larger tractor, but with the tasks you outlined, I would go for the B7800 too. Actually, I would suggest the B2630. It has many nice 3pt hitch options, and the subframe for front mounted attachments is much easier to install alone than the one for the B7800. I think it is a bit smoother tractor to operate too, but that is only my own perception. It hasn't been a big seller for Kubota, so you may see one at the same price as the B7800. On the other hand, the 2520 has been seen as a powerhouse for Deere in that size tractor, but it too will become a weak sister as the new 2720's arrive.
