Kubota B2650 - Options to make it clear the garage door?

My brother took the top half of tops off, cut off a piece that went just above the pivot pin hole, drilled another pivot pin hole and reinstalled. No welding, nothing to weaken the structure. VIOLA, A SHORTER ROPS. !

Not much way to shorten a cab version which is what the OP is asking about. IF it was just the ROPS, then I would second the cut and re-weld to shorten.

For the OP, not much choice than to install a taller door after verifying the total height. Lets not forget that there might be some snow or ice in the doorway at times that would make the tractor a bit taller so give at least a 2" clearance minimum.
There are some door frames that can be installed with minimum to the ceiling clearance. If you only have 8 foot ceiling height, you might get a door with 7.5' clearance so then just have to modify the spanner beam at the door.

Farm: if it's not too much of an inconvenience, can you measure the overall height of your B2650 with the R4 tires. My nearest Kubota dealer is about 60 miles away so just want to get a sense of whether the tractor may fit through the door before I request that they come out and verify.

Sorry, been away for awhile. Busy getting ready for winter. I measured my door and it is about 84 1/2 inches tall. I have some pics on my phone that I will try and upload. I have about 1/2 an inch between the top of the cab and the trim. Keep in mind the top of the cab is not flat but rather curved, so it is only close in the center and has more clearance as you move towards the edges.

I had the exact same problem with my 2650 and 7 ft. door . My garage was away from the house so I took off the top trim and added a strip of wood on top of the door to make up for the gap and it worked out okay for me . I do have R4 tires on mine .

First, I traded my B2920 this past summer on a B2650 with cab and never looked back the tractor is GREAT. As for the door is it the door frame that is too short or the door when opened? If it is the opened door you can get a garage door opener assembly that puts the motor on the wall. They then add extension rails and the door opens flush with the ceiling of the garage. If it is the garage door frame then you need a taller opening . Agree the tractor is best stored inside

On many overhead doors all the hardware (tracks) is bolted to the side framing so in fact you might gain about 1.5-2inches my detaching the top frame and possibly installing hinges to allow U to flip it up out of the way.
One neighbor actually simply created a 10 inch flip up door as his door and track hardware was not his problem, only the frame was.

You need to make sure of the height of your door and the tractor you are wanting to buy. If the difference is only .5 inch, you can run around with slightly underinflated tires. If the difference is only .5 inch, there has to be a different lower profile tire you can use. What is the high spot on the cab? Can you remove something on the cab? My b2650 open station surprised me when it only cleared my 8' door by less than an inch. If all else fails and you don't want to spend a lot modifying your home, you can look at a different tractor.
