Hi all, original poster here. First let me say thanks for the great and priceless information on the original factory tool kit for the
B7100!
I have been collecting wrenches and sockets as I visit the local junk stores. I should probably add that I already have complete wrench and socket sets in both standard (up to 1 1/8") and metric (up to 19mm) in my main tool box.
However, when I started this thread my purpose was to put together a kit to keep on the tractor, and the factory tool kit seemed like a logical place to start since they would have put some design thinking into this.
As noted above, the factory tool kit included the following:
Wrenches: 26/21 22/19 17/14 14/12 12/10
Sockets: 22 and 12
These do not all seem to be exactly common size combinations (at least from what I see on the Craftsman website for example) but I have been able to find the following wrenches:
19/17 17/14 12/10 open-end wrenches (some of these actually look like they might have been out of some kind of factory tool kit, maybe from a motorcycle)
19, 21 and 22 in open-end/box end wrenches
I also have picked up 20, 21, 22, and 27mm sockets.
That leaves the elusive 26mm, which is something of an odd size. I'm curious as to whether anyone knows what it is used on? I did pick up a wrench that is unmarked but seems to be either a 26/22 or else it is 1" x 7/8" and these are very close to the same (26mm is 1.026 inches, 22mm is .866 inches and 7/8 is of course .875).
If I knew what the 26mm wrench is used for, I could see if the one I picked up fits, or grind it a bit to make it fit.
Also, if anyone can tell me what the 12 and 22mm deep sockets are used for that would be a great help as well, those seem as though they would be pretty specific in their application.
Thanks!
