I'm new here, and yes, I'm a woman with tractor problems. I recently purchased a used (actually aged) B9200. The only thing I use it for is mowing pastures, so he's not over worked. His engine was rebuilt and there's no problem there, I don't think. After about 1/2 hr. into mowing, I notice a sound like a "wah, wah, wah" and my pedal is nearly to the floor. As I go on, the tractor slows to barely inching along. I find that if I stop to "rest" and start back up, it works fine for a while. I've discussed this with my local Kubota dealer and he looks at me like I'm from Mars. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I've also noticed - don't know if it's related, but sometimes the hydrolic lift on the mower doesn't work ... then sometimes it does. I'd appreciate any leads or possible diagnosis. My orange partner & I thank you!

Isis1, By the sounds of it you have a HST tranny. If it was mine I would first change the hydro fluid and filter as well as clean out the inline screen. I bet that would take care of your problems. Just check the owners manual (if you have it) on how to do it. Good luck. Von

It is my understanding that the hydrostatic transmission and the 3-point lift use the same hydraulic pump and fluid, along with power steering (optional on B9200). I'm pretty sure that even the manual transmission uses the same hydraulic fluidas the 3-point hitch.

As was mentioned in the other post, the hydrostatic fluid may need to be changed, the hydrostatic oil filter replaced, and the in-line hydraulic fluid screen cleaned.

If that is not the problem, then it may be the hydraulic pump that is about to die. Hopefully this is not the problem.

Using Hydrostatic Transmission: To begin with, I believe that the B9200 hydrostat transmission had 3 ranges (H-M-L). If you are mowing in HIGH range, then maybe you should try Medium or even Low. Also, when going up a hill and the tractor starts to strain and slow down, BACK-OFF the hydrostat pedal rather than press the pedal further.

Good Luck,
Kelvin
