Kubota BX 2230 Hydraulic Kit

Hi,
I've a BX 2230 and I'm looking to add a rear hydraulic kit. Has anyone ever done this for this model? What kit number did you use? Was it expensive?

Not a kit, but if you have some mechanical ability and tools it's not too bad to tackle..

Hi JNJ,
Nice link, leading to some very nice work. However I was more interested in the connections to the tractor for the oil i/o. Also, I believe the BX2230 is slightly different from all other BXs. For example most other BX's take the BX7326 hydraulic kit, but the people at Messicks say this wont work on the BX2230 and don't know/won't say what the correct kit is. I'm looking to find out more before I buy the 'parts' they say I need.

Hi Robert, I did this to my 2230 you need to first get the hyd parts from the BX23. This will tap into the BX trans/ hyd pump and run two lines out to the back of your tractor. Then I purchased the Kubota valve kit and had my hoses custom made. Here is a link to one of the threads on this subject. You can do a search and find more too.

Someone posted this BX wholegoods price list a few years back. It covers all the BX 30 and 50 series tractors, attachments and options. On page 21 is a rear remote valve listed for the BX2230 and on page 28 is the rear remote kit though it doesn't say which specific models it fits. I'm sure the parts you need are listed in this doc, but it would appear it would help to have a dealer tell you which specific kit or parts you'd need.

It may be you'd need the rear remote valve and a set of hoses or tubes for the BX2230. Maybe with this info, you can guide a dealer to the answers you need.

Another thought. Here's a link to a thread on installing the rear remote kit on a BX2350, which I followed for my BX1860. Just thinking you can compare your BX2230 to the pic's in the thread to see if this kit would work, which is a BX7326, which is not listed for a BX2230 in the pdf above. Again, I'm thinking Kubota put a kit together with the valve and tubes for the 50 series, but for a 30 series you'd need to order the valve, tubes, quick connects, etc. separately.

Chris thanks for the link to the wholegoods price list. I looked over your link to install rear remotes on a 50/60 series and that setup is totally different (much nicer) from what I had to do to my 2230. The tap for getting power beyond comes from the opposite side of the tractor and runs lines to the rear that end on either side of the top link bracket. They are for powering the backhoe, with the backhoe removed you connect the hoses together. I removed those two hoses and ran a new longer set of hoses to the Kubota valves that attach to the ROP'S. You have to run one more hose back to the transaxle for the return to tank line, and the quick couplers are attached directly to the valves. You can stack up to three valves of same or different types together, this is shown in the wholegoods list you provided.

Thank you both for some really good info.

At first glance the parts list points me to the Remote Hydraulic Kit (front) BX2015A ($683). This is really for a front loader. I hope to get a log splitter going on mine, so looking for a rear kit.
But going further down in the document (as you pointed out) I see there is a Remote Hydraulic Kit (rear) being referred to. This kit seems to have the parts BX 7322 ($295) and BX 7324 ($181) (This second kit is a hose kit and is for a tractor without a loader.)
The nice thing is, these are clearly referenced for use with the BX 2230 tractor.
I hope this helps other readers - guys the pointers you gave have been great.

By the way Chris, this has to be some of the cleanest work posted on the net on this subject, even if it is the BX 7326 kit.
