What dealer did you buy from? I just bought a home in Hudson township (3.3 acres), and I noticed your location is "Western Wisconsin".
Also curious why you're not going with the front mount snowblower...?

Welcome aboard. Seems like this is the Western Wisconsin hangout today. Congrats on the purchase in Hudson.

By the way . . . Does anyone with a bx2370 or bx25 or bx2670 know how much weight they can haul with their forks on fel? I just was doing something at my max load and wanted to see how it compared.[/QUOTE]

I have forks on my FEL bucket. What a joke. Maybe 150 lb's. But that isn't the worst part. They slide, wobble, and move so fast on curl, that they are mostly useless. I do use them though, so maybe a slight retraction is in order. I hate them so bad, I spent 2 weeks designing and making an FEL quick attach for my FEL to remove the bucket for add ons like real forks and a snow plow.

That is the same dealer my tractor originally came from.

...For the cost of a snowblower for the massey . . ...

Didn't see snow blowers on their website, how much was it?? This is one of my primary planned uses.

? checked with over a dozen dealers before making a decision. I chose a dealwr 120 miles away from me . . but great price, great support, and they've beenin the tractor business since 1910 or 1912. They are big . . Real big?.

Thanks for the tip. There's not much near here. Strictly from a product/price perspective, I am leaning towards the 1715 over the green, but a bit concerned about buying from so far away if there are problems. I think there are 3 JD dealers within 20 miles. I drove both the JD 1025 and the 2025. Also looked at Mahindra but didn't drive it. I was hoping to drive the 1715 before the snow flies - already blew that. Did you look at the JD also...?

Too often . . it seems to me . . . Items that bolt or clamp on to a scut's bucket add weight and reduce the lifting payload. My snowedge is an exception in my thinking because my bucketbfull of snow won't limit my useful weight of payload capacity.

But my forks attach directly to my quick attach while my 155# bucket comes off. It slso keeps the fork payload closer to the pins thsn clamp-ons.

For some clamp on forks is fine . . But I just desire more capacuty if payload and more direct contact closeness to the pin fulcrum.

Thanks! It will be a big change. Currently have less than 1/4 acre in Stillwater (old 1905 Victorian), takes me about 20 minutes to mow with a push mower.
We close on our new place Dec 18th. 2006 home, about 1 acre of dense trees/brush, just under 2 full acres of irrigated lawn, and small section of drainage easement. Have plans for landscaping, gardening, maintenance projects. The driveway is about 350 ft plus a side parking area. Gonna need some "machinery help" for that...

I did look at the JD scut choices . . But (for me) the price was high and the hydraulic front quick connect location for fel is low. Plus . . . again for me . . I was looking for unique product advantages . . I wanted a true mulching mmm deck . . No side discharge. I wanted a forward direction engine cooling fan . . . not rearward. I wanted dif control and either a yanmar/kubota/iseki engine AND tractor design. I figured whatever I bought I'd have it for quite awhile. :)

Congrats on your new home! I'm not far from you ... just south of New Richmond. Hoping to upgrade to a SCUT next year if all goes well (that's a big if at the moment). Currently mow 2.5 acres and keep 300' of driveway clear with a JD X320. If you go green I'll throw a plug in for Frontier Ag and Turf (used to be Polfus Implement) in New Richmond. I've had my X320 eight years and they've been good to deal with. Massey dealers are farther away- Gerlach over in Cottage Grove (MN) is probably the closest ... don't know much about them. There's a MF dealer up in Ridgeland, WI that came highly recommended by a couple of ex-farmers I work with - Link Implement. I was impressed- the two brothers that own the business spent over an hour showing me the tractor and answering my many questions even though I told them I was just "tire kickin'". They're about 50 minutes to an hour away for you. There's also Lindstrom Equipment in Menomenie ... I know nothing about them. For Kubota there's Value Implement in Baldwin. I drive by them each weekday on the way home from work and have stopped in a few times. Pretty laid back- I had to speak up to get waited on but once you do, they're very attentive. I tried out a BX25D and previously another salesman offered to deliver a tractor to the house to try out. Another Kubota dealer I would recommend is Niebur Implement in Hastings, MN (they're actually south of Hastings in Miesville). In a former life a Kubota L3010 was my daily driver and I did all the routine maintenance on it. The company bought the tractor new from Niebur and they (Niebur) were good to deal with over the years. All the tractors have advantages/disadvantages ... it's a tough call. Good luck whatever you decide.

On edit: snowblowers- they're expensive ($3000+). Kubota's and MF's are made by the same Canadian company. There's a good thread here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/massey-ferguson-owning-operating/347792-massey-gc1710tlb-getting-ready-winter.html about winter and the Massey GC's. The model number for the GC's front mounted snowblower is 2360. Massey's website though better than it was, is still somewhat dysfunctional. The blower is listed but in order to get a MSRP price you have to go to "Build My Massey"... there's no direct link.

I did a search using the link below on Massey dealers within 75 miles of hudson wi. 8 came up.

Massey Ferguson | Find a Dealer

In my case I had several dealer choices closer but found Mc Farlane's in Sauk City to be an event to offer all the kubota and massey choices together inside all at one time. I wanted the wife to share in the final phase of my 9 year tractor consideration.

I also looked at it that I can always get service if need be at closer locations . . but even though they were by far the largest I'd considered . . they were the most attentive and responsive too. 250 small town employees work there.

Regarding snowblower options . . I see jc21 already told you the model number. 350 foot driveway is good sized certainly.

A thing to remember is a front mount snowblower is a combination of blower, a frame hitch, and a frame/extended pto hookup. I'd say 3,000 is a little low . . Closer to 4,000. But thats pretty standard for good front mounts imo.
