Shy_guy0324,
Welcome to TBN!
As Henro pointed out, I've got a B2910 on 2/3 acre. As we're so often told "Size doesn't matter!!!" See, you can use that in many ways. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I started looking at full-size garden tractors about 4 years ago. Found the Kubota B series and I was hooked. That's where I felt I got the most bang for the buck. Of course, I went a bit overboard, but I've never regretted it.
I would recommend you get as much tractor as you can reasonably afford. Interest rates are still pretty low, so if you can finance a bit more, do so and get a larger unit. You'll never regret it. Well maintained tractors hold their value much longer than cars and will probably last much longer as well. I bought mine when I was 40 expecting it to last the rest of my life. In almost 4 years, I've only put 88 hours on it, but I've never regretted my investment.
When I bought mine I "justified" it using logic(?) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif something like this: I could justify about 1/3 of the cost because of the jobs I knew I needed it for. About 1/3 of the cost for things I haven't thought of and about 1/3 'cause I just wanted it!. I'm not sure which 1/3 is suffering, but I've used it for many more jobs than I ever could have imagined.
The BX's are great machines. Several people here seem to be very happy with the BX1500. If you can swing somthing a bit larger, I don't think you'll be sorry. If you think you'll ever want or need a small backhoe, the BX23 is hard to beat and the price, for it's capabilities, is reasonable. Heck, you might even consider pulling a "reverse Henro". That is, buy a BX2200 now, and in about a year buy a B2910 with backhoe. And if you really want to shake him up, buy an L3130 the year after that! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Good Luck,
~Rick
