In another life I found it necessary to place the chain saw under the hood of my truck to un-gel the fuel; did my rosy cheek work and sat down to a four squirrel dinner. Millions of human beings co-exist with bitter cold weather with no risk to health other than frost bite perhaps. Comfort/convenience sure but cold weather does not make you sick. Cold weather puts lead in your pencil!

Sorry but your comments (at least two) about getting sick from being cold seriously compromises the rest of your issues. Dats just not reasonable and was I a dealer and heard from a customer that a cab I sold him was making him sick, I'd run for the exits.

Sympathetic response, no. Mean response, no. Honest response, yes, as best I could deliver. Honesty is the best policy and I hope this, and other posts regarding your choice of equipment will lead you to a more successful place in all of this.

You have an asset worth X, you owe Y, and you need Z. With 35 horses and my understanding of horse trading, you should soon be in clear air.

I am deffinately using the 3 P's and am slowly working to be in the clean air, it's the initial struggle to get there that's the hardest and the 3 P's deffinately help.

corey, having sort of been down this road, I honestly don't see how any one tractor is going to work well in all of the areas/duties you have in a reasonable amount of time. For the immediate future, you might consider hiring someone to cut your 37 acres as you are surrounded by big farmers. The cost will be much less than another tractor until you can get your present situation rectified. I recently did some bush hogging for a neighbor and did not charge anything. You would be surprised how willing most farm folks are to help each other. All I need to get help is to ask and no money will change hands.

I do understand your desire to do all of your own stuff, but sometimes at least in the short run it just isn't possible.

Best of luck.

Good idea, something to consider for next spring.

Yes, it's a major life change for me. I went from living in the city for most my life to moving to the country where I board and train horses. While younger and living in the city I didn't have my act together and that's why my credit is shot. Met a wonderful woman and we decided it's time for a change and a fresh start so we moved out here. Everything is going great until it comes time to see dealers about specialty equipment then I swear they sense a new person to make the quickest buck off of. Then hide from them. I have been told by other kubota dealers that my case isn't the first time they have heard that happening from that dealer (they said it happens more often than not.)

I'm not asking for a refund, just to return the tractor, end the contract with minimal penalty and start over with a new contract and the right tractor. Where I'm living I'm a lone wolf (I'm in green and yellow country) but their dealers sell the huge tractors where on or two swipes and I'm don my pasture plus have to remove a lot of fence to get it in there, so orange is very new here and hasn't established itself as a good tractor here

You do have a disadvantage regarding the dealers. Not the green vs. orange thing, but the mega-ranch vs. small property thing. It's not uncommon to hear of the large scale ag dealer who won't give the time of day to someone who doesn't have a 6 or 7 figure budget for equipment. And that Kubota dealer sure isn't helping his reputation by selling the wrong equipment for a customer's needs. Especially when Kubota offers so many models to choose from.

But, that's all water over the dam at this point. You may have to travel some distance, but you're probably best off finding another dealer who will work with you. I am partial to Kubota, but there are other manufacturers that also make excellent equipment, including a certain brand that has green paint. :D It is probably more important for you to find someone who is honest and helpful that what brand of equipment he sells. Even so, you're probably going to get a better deal in trade from another Kubota dealer.

Once you find out what kind of deal you can make through a dealer, you might also see if you can sell the BX privately for a better price than what it would bring as a trade-in.

I do love kubota, their equipment is above the rest especially for smaller operations and I did find a dealer who is willing to bend over backwards to make sure customers are 100% happy with their purchase (I just wish I saw him first, lol.) He agrees with me that the BX is an awesome machine but for what I need I should have gotten a smaller BX for the lawn and arena then used the rest of the money for a bigger tractor for the snow, pasture and bales (I was impressed with him mentioning that and being honest that one tractor won't do everything.) He said try to sell the 2660 privately cause I would probably get more money that way. But if I can't due to there being mostly huge operations in this area (apparently their biggest customers for their tractors is city's , towns and county's who don't need massive machines for parks and highway maintenance.) He will do his best to find a buyer for me. Once it's sold we will start from scratch and get me the right equipment for the job. He did say to file an official complaint to kubota Canada cause that dealer has done this to several people and is giving the kubota name a bad rep in this area (he also said it's not uncommon for kubota to give extra incentives to customers who had a bad experience and still choose to keep with them vs going to another brand.) At least I'm on the right track now, but now have to fight to do something about that dealer so no one else gets stuck like me cause of them.

Again I hope it works out for you. It sounds like maybe the new dealer will work with you to get you where you need to be. If nothing else think of it as a life lesson learned.

If/ when you do sell do sell the current tractor and you're ready to buy again start a thread here and ask for advice. Even the new dealer may want to push something that may not be best for you. Find out what the dealer thinks and let us know. Hopefully we can help get it right the second time around.

Than you. I will do that. I will actually probably start a thread right away actually to start getting info and ideas on what would be the best for me. Now that I am armed with this great forum I know I will make the right decision. I will also let you know what the dealer thinks is best for me and can compare.

I'd sell the cab, and use the BX for all the things it's good at. The Bx is good for working in confined spaces ie; arenas, barns, etc and would be a good compliment to a larger tractor. Then get a larger tractor to handle all the bigger stuff. It's been said and they are right. With your property a BX would be invaluable for a whole lot and no one piece of equipment will do it all.
Best advice with anything is to shop dealers first, price second. I have a dealer who is great. The piece of mind in knowing he's on my side and really cares about his customers is priceless.

But do you think that the 2660 is a little overkill on the smaller stuff? Like I said I will be starting another thread to get opinions but I am wandering if a smaller one would be better for the other things. I do agree it is good for tighter spaces like the 5 acres of lawn.
