Kubota dealer is really starting to piss me off

The 3800 is a 1/4" valve, right? If so you would notice right off if they put a position control valve in as a replacement. Let's hope for years of great service ( I think you've earned it).

when you pull the lever up there is not clicking of the valve like it was before with the old valve you could feel it cycle on and off when you move it slowly and now its just smooth and no cycling of the valve

The L3700SU is a position control valve, not a quarter inch like the B series valves. I would expect the L3800 to also be a position control valve. I don't see anything on Kubota's site to say for sure. What does the manual say?

How do you tell if you have a position control valve? I have a B26 and the control handle for the 3PH has a scale from one to nine. Does that mean anything? I guess it is what it is.

A quarter inching valve has discreet positions that the 3pt will adjust to in 1/4 inch increments. A position control valve will adjust to any position along a range, it is not limited to 1/4 inch increments but will stay at whatever position you put the adjustment lever to.

The lever slot will have numbers along it to help you gauge where the 3pt is at without having to turn around to see it. Once you know how the implement lifts, you can determine how high or low it is at a given number and use that number as reference while operating the tractor. The number is not a set position, but is a relational scale that will change meaning with various implements.

The L3800HST has position control. It is not 1/4-inching.

I thought about this more... I would be pissed at my dealer if this happen:

1. I'm pretty sure that he's lying to you about which valve you have.
2. He must think you are dumb... to believe the story that this is the same valve but just adjusted correctly.

Congratulations on your purchase... It's now a very fine tractor.

PS. If you talk to the dealer again, find out what it would have cost, parts and labor, if you had this done out of warranty...

Ok, I'll kick the elephant in the room in the stones... do you mind sharing the dealer's name with us? There are a few of us who'd like to contact them for some more information on this fix, I'm sure. They seem to have the silver bullet market cornered.

I'd be interested in the valve part # and any service bulletin # they referred to adjust the new valve.
