Kubota B7610
Hi,

I currently have a Kubota B7610 and am thinking of purchasing a front blower for it. I am debating between the B2781 and 2782. I currently run a 60" rear blower but am tired of the looking backwards down my 1200' driveway.

I am guessing that the 2782 would be fine since I am already running a 60" rear blower but maybe that is not right. Any oppinions there?

Also, anybody recently purchase one of these blowers and have any pricing?

Thanks.
Curtis

They are rather costly from what I have seen as you need the under body mounting frame and heaven forbid if you do not have a mid P.T.O. to use;

There is considerably less ground clearance too.

The pronovost folks are building front mounts for 3 point hitch equipment now for machines under 50 horse power.

It may cost you much less money to contact qb.ca and ask if they have a front mounting hitch for your size Kubota as it would be less work if you have a mid point P.T.O. and see about getting a PTO extender from one of the folks that build the adapters kits that have the one to one gearing and are attached to the rear drawbar.

That way you can use the blower on the front and rear if desired.

In order to lessen the aggravation for you I hope:

Have you thought at all about installing a suicide knob at the six o'clock position and the 9 o'clock position?

This allows you to simply turn a bit in the seat and you could add cushion too and be able turn the wheel with low effort knowing the tractor will operate in the direction you turn the spinner.

You could add a pair of large truck mirrors on the tractor fenders and a pair of snow plow markers on the corners of the blower to give you reference points.

That's the same situation my dog groomer (!) is in. He's trading his 60" rear mount Blizzard for a front mount. Told me it was $4500 from the local dealer for the new one, and he was going to get "about" $2000 for his old blower on trade. That may have been BS, as he hadn't finalized the deal the last time I talked to him.

Hello and happy new year Fred,

I would suggest that your friend calls

Pronovost Machineriesin Quebec and

ask how much it would cost to have

a front three point hitch and the

gear box for reversing the drive rotation for it.

From a price sheet dated February 16, 2009.

I'll let you figure out the total cost as there are a number of notes for each item. Read the notes carefully. I assume you have a FEL and don't need the joystick (Hydraulic control valve).

B2781A $2,735 51"
B2782A $2,933 63"
B2782 $1,820 63"
B2781 $1,632 51"

Options
B2783A $1,022 Front Blower Chute Kit
B2516 $ 579 Electric Chute Deflector
B2786 $ 109 Drift Cutters
B2788 $ 620 Mid-PTO Driveline Kit for B780

B2736 $ 194 Front half of Mid PTO Driveline Kit

B2783A Requires: B2781 or B2782 Snowblower Includes chute, manual rotation, quick hitch receiver, front half of PTO shaft, and hardware.
(B2781 plus B2783A is essentially the same as B2781A. B2782 plus B2783A is essentially the same as B2782A.)

High capacity, 2 stage commercial type Front mount, with heavy-duty skid shoes. Includes chute reduction kit and manual chute rotation kit. Requires Hydraulic Control Valve Kit, Quick Hitch, Mid PTO Driveline Kit, and Front
Half PTO Shaft. For B7300, B7400, B7500, B2410, B7510, B7610, B2320, B2620, B2920, B7410, B2630, B2710, B2910, B3030, B7800

B2791A Quick Hitch and Subframe Approximate weight 224 Subframe brackets must be removed for Mid-mount Mower for B2630, B2710, B2910, B3030, B3030C, B7800, B3200

I found the note below on another page of the price sheet and thought it was odd. So is the misspelled "miximum" below maximum or minimum?

The B2782 is only recommended for tractors with a Category I 3-Point Hitch and a miximum rear PTO hp rating of 30 hp at 540 rpm.

Hopefully this will get you in the ball park.

My thoughts, go the larger one!!!! It really is the cheaper way to go and it will make short order of your work.

There are other ways of doing it but it is nice as you only have one make to chase if you have issues.
