Kubota fuel gauge problem

My b2910 has a fuel gauge problem. One minute it reads full the next minute it reads empty. The tank can be full and it still will read empty sometimes, it can be empty and read full sometimes. Dealer has no clue on how to check the sending unit or gauge. I checked all wires and they seem to be tight. Does anyone know the ohm readings or an easy way to figure out what the problem is? My B2910 WSM says Full = 1 to 5 Ohms. 1/2 = 27.5 to 37.5 ohms Empty = 103 to 117 ohms.
Check that you Water Temp Gage is working. There is a slow blow fuse that provide voltage to both gages. If you need more info. Send my a PM with a email address. I will scan the page for you.

I'm not familiar with your specific model but many problems like this are grounding problems. Besides the wires in the circuits the ground return paths have to be checked. With your description of the problem and what you have checked, and with the ohm values given, a return path problem is highly likely. Look for tank grounding straps and bolts that are loose. It could also be a broken wire inside the insulation. Firmly tug on all wires where they enter connectors. Check for pinched wires.

Thanks for the info. I didnt have a chance to work on it this weekend because it is in the "working mode" now. As soon as it acts up I will take some readings. Thanks for the help.
