Kubota GL series questions...

Here are some pics of a the 5030GST local to me with the broken lower right hitch arm, dents and what-not...
I told the dealer who isn't a Kubota dealer that I wouldn't even make a firm offer as is without him fixing the hitch.
What would be the most you guys think that this tractor is worth?

I don't know if it is an illusion or not, but the back of that tractor sure looks crooked. Look at the first pic, the one taken from the rear. The seat, and entire ROPS structure looks bent. The ROPS uprights do not look parallel. The cross bar on the ROPS does not look level. It appear the whole ROPS has been bent, possibly in a rollover? I don't know. It sure does not look right. I think there is more to this tractor than just a few dents and a bent 3ph lift arm.

Your pictures are kind of small. Do you have any friends who are knowledgeable about diesel engines who can look it over? If not you can always take a sample of some of the oils and send them out. There are companies that can tell you things like how the bearings are wearing, if there radiator fluid in the oil, or if it's just been changed and could be hiding something. How did the hitch get broken? Does it just look like they may have backed into something or was it overloaded? How do the tires look, do they look like they've been worked hard?

I think your right. That cross bar doesn't follow the tool box and where it mounts the two brackets mounted to the ROPS don't look like they are in line with each other.

If it did roll over it's possible oil could have gotten into the cylinders. If not started right it could have done damage and shortened the life of the engine.

Hi,
I was looking at an L5030GST locally that has a broken lower arm on the 3pt hitch. He offered to fix it, but the tractor is pretty dented for only 300 hours.
Should I avoid it??

After looking at the pictures, I agree with the other guys. Yes, keep shopping, there will be better choices if you keep looking.

Hi,

All good points. It's former owner a dentist with a 70 acre hobby farm, said that his tenant had damaged the tractor will hammers & shovels and that his property got pretty wet and muddy, 5030 got stuck, and was pulled out of the mud using the ROPS.
He said that:
-the damage to the 3pt somehow happened while that tenant was using or unhooking a post hole auger.
-the tractor was always stored outside.
-because this tractor was so ill suited for his property he tried out two other larger Kubotas from his dealer. One of these caught on fire due to an electrical problem, and a second of which also had electrical problems. I can't remember the model number of those, but I thought it was a high number like 85 or 90.
At any rate, he then switched to the New Holland dealer who now has the 5030. He has apparently bought two NH tractors from this dealer.

I have a BX23TLB HST where I work and it is quite handy for it's size.
I'm pretty much settled on 40-50 hp for our 20 acres.

From my notes, over the past couple of years I have passed on what I though to be a few well priced used Kubotas with FEL's...
4400's in the 17,000 range. A couple of 5030HST's in the $20-$24 range.

I'll keep looking,
& Thanks Again,
Craig

Smart move, keep looking.

I think the dentist needs to look for another tenant too.

another good reason not to lend your tractor out.. wow thats a lot of damage for a shovel and getting stuck.. You are making the right choice moving on. Many good used tractors out there...
