Here is a picture of an L210 from TractorHouse.com. It looks extremely similar except for the headlight position. It even has the front wheel weights.

Been looking around on eBay and have found some parts available for this tractor. Looks like many of the parts are interchangeable with the L210. There were cranks, water pumps, rods, fuel filters, shop, parts and owner's manuals.

I'm getting more tempted. I showed my wife the pictures and even though she didn't make that "awww" sound that girls make when they see a puppy, she did smile.:D

I went and looked at the tractor. Very interested but still waffling. Here are a couple of close up picks of it:

I'm going to do some more research and call the man who owns it. He's actually someone I've met before so I'll see what he can tell me too.

The dealer (Todd) cranked it up. Glow plugs weren't working, which I've read can be a simple wiring issue, but it has a knob you can pull to release pressure on the cylinders while the starter spins it up a few times. It took a couple of tries and it made a lot of white smoke (I'm assuming unburned fuel) and then fired right up. Really didn't smoke much at all once it was going. The two cylinder sounds kind of like an old motorcycle.

I'm still not sure if this is a project I should take on. I think if I do it right it will cost a fair amount of money, but it is a project that could be done over time. And it runs right now so it could be used and or played with as is.

I've heard that the L210 had some sort of oil filter cartridge that was a pain to mess with and change but I'm assuming that white thing on the right side is a basic screw in filter.

My wife still hasn't said absolutely not and she went to high school with the daughter of the guy who owns it so she thinks that's kind of neat.

Kubota L200

I too was bitten by the cute little Kubota L200 bug. Purchased this one with 1year old 5 ft. finish mower and scraper blade for $2000. Had some braking problems, but discovered it was the rear seals behind the inboard brake drums. No big deal, around $10 to fix. Our two boys think its a real "cool" tractor. Planning on using it to mow about 4 or 5 acres and was wondering if it would handle a 3 pt. rototiller? If so, any idea of what size? Thanks Randy...

Wow. That one looks to be in great shape. I had to pass on 'mine'. Maybe one day. Great to see someone with an L200, especially someone who is using it. Very cool.

George:

Just a follow up on our Kubota L200. After replacing seals in brake drums, we experienced a problem with the power take off. The unit came with a 5 ft. finish mower and whomever had it before us had made a shim plate to try and hold the power take off shaft from coming out. Anyway while we were mowing the pto quit working and gear oil came running out. What caused the problem was no flexibility in the pto shaft (it could not move in and out) and broke the internal snap ring off that holds the shaft intact. After discovering problem it still wasn't an easy fix because it was located inside the case and could not get a pair of snap ring pliers on it. After fishing the snap ring into place with a piece of wire holding one end of it and pushing it on with a long screwdriver the problem was permanently fixed and now everything is working great....except my back which about gave out trying to get that snap ring on and fastened. The boys and I have mowed about 5 acres several times and other than me forgetting to release the brakes one time, everything works as it should..... so, that being said, if you ever find a good looking one.... let me know, we really like ours.........and maybe a second one would enjoy it here also........Randy

Hi guys,

I just bought one of these L200's the other day... I love it already, it's a good little tractor. If anyone has any info on tapping into the hydraulics on this tractor, I'm all ears... I'd like to be able to run a wood splitter and maybe eventually a loader off of this tractor... thanks!

Aside from being the flagbearer for Kubota in the states, it really is a handsome machine. What I mean is I like the lines - it looks like a scaled down larger machine of that period. George, your temptation is contagious; now I'm wondering if I could replace that Sears POS that we use to cut the lawn with a nice, older lil bota. Did they make a mid mount mowing deck for those or would I need a rear finish mower?

Baby Grand,

I've been told that people have seen these with mid-mounted mowers, but I have not seen one myself. One guy mentioned that attachments for other L-Series (L210, L260) will fit this machine, as well as some attachments for some B-series models... for instance, a loader for a B7100 might fit... I'm hopeful he's right, and I'll let you know when I find out for sure...

-Norm.

Edit: I just found a picture online of an L210 with a mid-mount mower, so there you have it!
