Okay, after almost one full year of ownership here is my verdict:

Love the tractor. Had a problem with the hood latch, dealer had to fix it. Stuck closed. Then the fuel gauge stopped working for awhile, now it's working again.

Love the tractor. Strong, runs good, plenty of power. Perfect for what I need.

Hate the 3-pt hitch jerky thing. Works ok on box blade etc. but when using PHD it really ain't good. Considering/thinking about pestering Kubota to see if they will fix it. I heard that the problem is supposed to be fixed since '05, it ain't.

So, with the L8430 kit....

And are you saying that the L2800 also had jerking hitch problems?
Use the search feature and search for "L8430" you will find the information (dealer should know, too)... There are four or five threads you can read...

Also, the L2800 and L3400 are the same tractor, just the motor is different... same 3ph valve and was replaced at about the same time but the Serial Numbers for L3400 are of course different.

If you have an 09, can you take some video of the 3ph in action and post it on youtube???

Also... not sure why it comes with a fuel gauge... they rarely work.

I bought a new L3400 HST with loader in June 09 from Barlows for $17900. I have 95 hours on it with no problems. I like the R4 tires filled with Rimgard. Yes the 3pt is jerky. The tractor has plenty of power for everything I have done so far. I love the HST as my last tractor was gear driven.

I also have a new 2010 l3400. Pto is still really jerky! I tried with my dealer for 2 months, to find out what Kubota would do about it. Did not ever get a reply, so found the Ga. Kubota rep. & called him direct. His answer was that the reason these models are jerky, is that the valve is a one way valve, as opposed to a two way on other models. Meaning that the valve is either OPEN, or CLOSED. It is NOT progressive. Also said the models were designed with those valves, & Kubota would not change them for a better valve.
I told him I had read info about Kubota replacing the valves for SOME people, but not others. He said Kubota had not, & would not replace them, that if they had been replaced for some, the DEALER had done it on his own, to try & satisfy the customer! Hope this helps. Just MY experience, maybe someone else has had better luck than I did!!! Dave

I will try to get a video up in the next couple of days. And thanks for all the info and the L8430 tip, that will at least make life a bit easier!

Nice to see Kubota won't do anything to rectify the situation...at least a few dealers out there are generous enough to help out. Mine has basically washed his hands of it all...
