Bingo!. Another thing is the type of ground you are running it on.. 2WD can work well on flat ground, but not as well on hilly terrain as a 4WD. also how wet, etc. On some places a 2WD would spend most of its time stuck. on others it is just fine.. a 50HP 2WD full size Utility tractor would usually be able to lift larger loads like a full size round bale, and safely pull a larger trailer due to larger frame size and weight, BUT all that said, most people would agree that a in general work a 30 HP 4WD CUT will out work it. Except for the things noted.. By the way welcome to this very very large group of people, and since it is so large there are about as many opinions as there are people:laughing:
All in all I think you/your dad have made a great purchase, and will get a lot of good out of that machine, and you will find uses for that front end loader you never even dreamed of. When you have hydraulic power at your fingertips, you start thinking in a different way. Use the search function of this forum to find anything you want to know, there are over 2 milllion post's here. and a lot of great guys. Have fun.

30HP 4wd outwork a 50HP 2wd?? I dont think outwork in the right word. I can pull a 4 bottom plow with 4 16's or pull a 14 wide disc without breaking a sweat. You will not do that with a 30HP CUT. I have never had my tractor stuck. Farm tractor and CUT...two different animals. Plus the CUT probly doesnt have draft control or synchronous PTO option, handy for farming implements. Yes the CUT he puchased will probably do the job on his small farm, but to say it will out work a 50hp farm tractor is a little far fetched. I have 750lbs of fluid in each of my tires, traction is never an issue. Ever.

Why would you buy a tractor before even knowing if its the right size for your needs?? Thats crazier than being worried about the paint coming off around the inside of your hitch hole.
You don't know how much information his Dad had... and most salesmen (worth a hoot) will know what tractor to steer you towards. I would say he got more tractor than he needed... but we don't know all the fact.

BTW, Welcome to TBN... The friendly(?) site...:welcome:

Yea Haha thanks and MOST of y'all have been real helpful. I was just curious what the tractor could do and thanks to y'all who have helped.

Well like I said there are almost as many opinions as there are people,:)
I based what I said on MY experience. I had a Long 2360, 2WD full size tractor, with loaded tires, and traded it for a 33hp CUT 4WD TC33DA. The Cut easily "outworked" the full size tractor, in the following tasks. Mowing, the 6ft finish mower on the Long, was 1.3 times longer to do the 7 acres of finish mowing than the CUT. heres why, the CUT is way more nimble, can turn sharper, and even tho only pulling a 5 ft finish mower. it was way faster. Now I might point out the CUT had "supersteer" option, so it would turn sharper than even most CUT's, but the fact are still the facts, it was faster, so it "outworked" the full size tractor. In loader work, while the full size would lift more weight, the CUT was so much faster, again the CUT outworked out the fullsize. I also went into the creek and cleaned it up, pushed out all the downed trees, old garbage washed down from the neighbor etc. and made it look nice.. tried that with the 2WD, and it was stuck all the time, and could not "push" as much in 2WD as the 4WD machine, even tho it was smaller. Again in my mind the 4wd CUT "outworked" the full size. When it rained, the heavier 2WD had to wait much longer to mow, as it was heavier and had AG tires. the CUT with R4 tires, much better. for dead lifting of weight, the full size was better, That is the only advantage I can think of. The CUT was so much easier to operate, with its hydrostat, and so much faster in all task's it was not even funny. Now if you know your Long models, you might note the 2360 is only 36 horse. but it IS a full size frame 2WD tractor and the 50 and 60 horse models were the same chassis size just a bigger motor. The problem with the Long is a very balky transmission. (no shuttle, and no syncronization) 2WD in conditions where 2WD is not optimum (hills and wet). Sure it had draft control. Useless for my applications, as I have never plowed, and yes it had a syncronous PTO, again useless, as I never ran a seeder or some other implement needing to be "tied" to the wheel speed. In short unless you are a farmer, you need a 4WD CUT not a 2WD full size tractor.. my humble opinion, your mileage may vary:thumbsup: Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

Yeah the 2360 was the newer version of the 360. Im assuming you has the 3 cylinder diesel in it. Good dependable unit. I have the 560. My 3-4 gear and 7-8 gears are synchronized. Like I said also, for his small farm the CUT will probably work. Although I dont consider brush hogging farming. But for serious farm implements for real farming, I'll take my 560 any day. Different strokes fpr different folks.

Once the property is cleaned up we will be planting crops.

What do y'all think about putting a 4 in 1 bucket on this tractor. Guy at dealer said it would cost like 3 grand. Just curious about what y'all think?

I wouldn't. Not on a small machine, they are heavy and that weight reduces lift capacity. Plus there is a need for a 3rd hydraulic cylinder and control valve. The hydraulics may add 1000 on top of the bucket cost. A tooth bar will typically be more useful and about 1/10th the expense.
