Looks like the Kubota with BH is right about list - and less 10% would be $33,500 range.

Dang have prices really went up that much. $29k for an economy L just don't seem right. What does kubotas website say msrp is on how it's configured?

15 years ago I bought the predecessor to the 3901. Which was the L3400. It was $17k out the door. HST was a $2000 option. So $19k. Which would be like $17k pre-tax. I know things get more expensive, inflation and all....but dang....70% in 15 years?
They've gone up noticeably just in the last couple of years. When I was shopping less than 2 years ago, I got a quote on cabbed DK42SE for right about 30k. I think the pandemic likely has a lot to do with it (low availability).

I also wonder if a lot of people suddenly getting their stimulus checks may be driving demand too.

Off topic, but I'd wonder if waiting 6 months or so could yield a better deal. With the large Kubota dealership owning everything around, as mentioned, they might be a little more impervious to monthly fluctuations in supply and demand.

RSR made a good point, right now is peak buying season for tractors and Ag equipment. I know for sure, tractor dealers here in Texas are selling with less than 50 day inventory on their lot. If your willing to wait until September, you could expect more significant discounts off MSRP from both Kioti and Kubota on tractors and implements.

I did look at a comparable Kioti when I was shopping. I did like the seating area, seemed bigger and more space, plus it had mirrors, and some extra stuff the Kubota didn't have. But I really liked the seating area on the Kubota, everything seemed like it was in the right spot for me, Didn't have to reach out for things, I really like the treadle pedal, especially with the hst. The hump doesn't bother me, only thing sometimes when I have boots on, my foot will kind of get hung up on the clutch pedal when getting off. I have the third function installed, land pride one. Its definitely awesome.

@RSR, Kubota tractor, with loader, 3rd function, is about $29000. Kioti tractor, with loader, 3rd function, is about $24000.
If you add the backhoe, Kubota is $37500, Kioti is $31000. It's approximate, plus minus couple hundred, wasn't sure how to apply rebates partially.
Kubota with backhoe should have at least 1 remote, I saw that you can configure them individually online. Most likely they just put on it what's needed for the backhoe. I guess one remote is plenty for a compact tractor anyhow, not sure which attachments you would need 2 remotes ...
The rest of the difference up to $13000 is from the other attachments.

You can do better on the kubota shop around I got my 3901 loader bucket level kit cruise loaded tires deluxe canopy for $25200 in October and my backhoe and bucket for $7200 in January third function is a half hour install available for that tractor as a kit from summit hydraulics for less than the dealer wants for the landpride kit

That Kubota price seems awful high, like they are not trying to discount. I have always gotten about 15-20% discount from MSRP. Of course, now there is more demand than supply, so maybe they can charge whatever they want.

Have you test driven both tractors? Be sure to do that. It's always a tragedy when someone new comes on the forum only looking at paper specs and numbers (but the Kubota price would still have to come down a lot to make it competitive).

With getting to know equipment and what proper balance is and appropriate weights are for machines you can get confused. I was looking at the Land pride grapple that I wanted and found out that I can buy generic units for less then half as a dealer. Things that happened in my quest because I have only one job for it and when it is done it might sit for years. After talking to the wholesaler and telling him of my dilemma and trying to make a good decision the cheaper one was over two hundred lbs heavier! That's a loser on payload! The wholesaler even told me about the land pride AR 400 steel and it's strength! I went to a construction equipment auction that had two of his units available that were new! It was easy to get excited seeing all the metal although I knew it was going to be a disadvantage. When looking at one of the points I noticed it was bent. Looking closer it had a mark on the outside of a pallet fork and the point was bent in about three inches. All that thick heavy metal? Sure wasn't heat treated in anyway!!! Buying the Land Pride for double the money so I don't have to worry about the weight as well as the machines strength. There are reasons why some things are cheaper!!!

I know my local Kubota dealer has more demand than supply. They're selling tractors before they even get them in. Not much reason for the dealer to discount them in a market like that.

This is DocTrac, new to the forum, checked this out and so much awesome info! About to pull the trigger on a compact tractor ...

Here's the situation: just received pricing for both Kubota L3901 HST and Kioti 4010SE HST compact tractors. Attachments and implements: tractor, 3rd function, canopy, backhoe, grapple, pallet fork, rotary cutter, box blade, disc harrow, rotary tiller. The configuration is virtually identical, I was very careful to match implements for both offers, e.g. shredders are both 2", 5', heavy-duty. I was shocked by the price difference: the Kubota dealer quoted a price that is $13,000 higher than the Kioti. That's thirteen thousand. Can somebody explain to me how this is possible???
DocTrac, I'm no master tractor guru by any stretch and only run my Kioti 3510SE HST (same tractor as 4010 with lower hydraulic flow rate but $1200 cheaper) on the occasional weekend over the last three years (150 hrs to date) but I have no regrets buying a Kioti. I found the same price shock as you in 2017. I think Kubota makes a quality tractor but your paying a premium for the name given their good track record. What eventually sealed the deal for me was realizing both Kioti and Kubota are made in South Korea and both companies make 99%+ of their own parts\components in-house vs. sub-contracting things out all over the place. Just my opinion this makes for a better product with less problems over time but it also means when you go to buy replacement parts their made by the parent company not by whoever in another country. That said, if you have a Kubota dealer near by you like and trust thats a big selling point over a Kioti dealer 100+ miles away. Good luck.
