Kubota L4600 or Kubota L4701

The 4701 has a slightly nicer seat, new dash and steering wheel, and a lever for the throttle instead of a rotating arm. Plus all the Tier IV garbage on the engine (which likely offsets the HP benefit). If you can still find a new 4600, you should pee on the tires to mark it, wrap your arms around it, make a deal, and take it home ASAP. It's a no-brainer. If you're reading this you're already wasting time!!!!

I'd go with the L4600 over L4701.

The MX designation is a bit misleading as if you look at the specs it's really no more of a UT than the GL30 or GL40 which are CUTs; kind of a blurred line in this size. The MX has more features than the standard L Series and a really good buy though more expensive.

The MX as more weight out front and handles equipment better. It will easily out pull my L4300 even though the same engine. I think there is more frame up front on the MX and my hydraulic cylinders cycle faster so there must be better hydraulic flow. It might lift more with the 3 pt hitch because I can pick up things the L4300 won't.

It's either-or since both are really great tractors.

Yeah, it gets really fuzzy between the Grand L's, MX and M5140, just pulling up the spec sheets help see how close the GL, MX and M are all ahead of the standard L.

Of course it helps to go to the look and look at all of them. All are good tractors, but feel a bit different and with the spec sheets, time in person, you can hopefully get the right one for you; looks like we both did.

Every time a person inquires about info on a L-series tractor(s) it turns into a thread trying to convince the OP to buy a MX machine.

Interesting.

In my case the MX was cheaper than the l4600. That's why I said to consider it.

I went back and reread all the posts and only saw a couple mention "considering an MX, most simply recommended the L4600.

Interesting.

I understand, not directed at anyone in particular, just noticed in the past year Ive followed this site that is usually what happens. Not everyone wants a MX.

It could be worse, oftentimes someone will chime in with, you really need to look at a Kioti, LS, Mahindra etc.:)
