Of the 3 tractors you listed out, my choice would be the Kioti, then the Mahindra, then Kubota and I am a Mahindra guy. But with that said, you are doing this as a business. You have to always have your customers in mind. So, which dealer is going to get you taken care of the fastest in the event that you do need something from a dealer to get you back into operation? Your customers don't want to wait for any length of time to get their snow taken care of do they? So if the dealers 400 miles away are willing to commit to helping you out same day or even the next day, then those guys can be considered. Otherwise my thinking would be that you should go with the Kubota.

Don't get me wrong, they are all nice machines and I would think that you would be happy with any of them, but being in business and customers depending on you, you need to be able to perform. So in the unfortunate event that something does go wrong with your equipment, who is going to take care of your needs the best-fastest. That is the dealer that you need to go with IMO. This is something that you may need to get written up as a contract, probably for at least as long as the warranty is good for.

Just my :2cents:

To me there is some pricing differences that are showing signs of the differences of the dealers margins. The numbers of certain make tractors in your area mean that the dealer will also have more parts and a better trained staff in your area to address any problems your tractor might have. I don't think you want to wait a couple of days when it is snowing to get your part or information to fix your tractor!
To have to much weight built in often means old casting designs of crude cast. Take the option of being able to add the weight you need added in the right areas to properly ballast for the balance of the tractor.
For your work a blower is what would be the best option. I did use a factory cab this year and a rear blower for the first time in years! With hydraulic rotation and the good outside mirrors it was a pleasure with the loader on the front to clean the step areas clean as well! With a blower it is normal to only move the snow once!

From my experience in tractor shopping, higher priced dealers didn't always mean they had a better trained staff or parts supply from what I could see.

thanks for the replies guys,

after looking at the quotes yet again, I realized I was wrong with one of the prices in my first post. The kioti is actually $64k tax in, not plus tax like the others. That is a huge difference, almost $20k. It would be hard not to go with the kioti, even with the distance to the dealer.

I am not too worried about waiting a couple days for parts, this will only be a part time business, just something to do to help cover the payments on the tractor. I have a full time job that is 3 weeks on/3 weeks off, this is only gonna be a more or less a hobby. My brother inlaw has an heavy equipment licensce and could drive it if I were too get real busy. But basically, I have lots of work of my own to do with the tractor, this will just help cover the costs of the equipment.

Good Call DD, tractors these days don't break down as much as they used to and you don't have a crop in the field waiting to be harvested. $20K is a lotta mula and would buy you the attachments that you want.

A closer dealer could be good if you ever need a warranty repair, but $20K is a lot of money.
I've had my Kioti DK for 13-14 years now and it has never been back to the dealer.

I should add that even if my Kioti dealer was next door, I'm still getting billed shipping charges for parts orders. As a result, I have the dealer do blind drop shipping of parts to me directly frequently.

Kubota's 2-speed HST transmission is nicer than what is in my Kioti, but my controls are nicer.

The good news about the Kioti NX series is that we're a year into ownership with the new models, and as a result of that time and experience, the collective knowledge of NX owners is increasing and so you're not as likely to be the first guy facing a new problem to solve.

With this additional info, is there really any other tractor to even consider than the Kioti?.. I think not. Good luck.

In regards to the price differences and financing options for each, what is the final actual price you'll be paying, both total with interest, and monthly?

Also, most Kubota buyers seem to report that there is room for negotiation in the price ... Not sure if you already worked that out?

While I love kioti tractors(owned 2)I would buy the kubota if you like your dealer just for the fact your dealer is so close 400 miles is quite a hoof to buy the Kioti.
