Reason I asked , is I need stone hauled in Montgomery County for some small jobs we are doing in Upper Dublin ,Eagleville and maybe Tylesrport.. Not a lot of mountains in that area , compared to central Pa . I don't know if you haul in and out in those areas or know someone that will. We need some 2B stone hauled in and some fill hauled out after we pour concrete on a foundation mod.

I'm down by Chadds Ford, right on the PA/DE border. I'd offer to help you if I was closer and I usually save my trucks & equipment for my own work. If I think of someone, I'll get their name to you. I haul a lot of 2A & B for my work and a lot of fill, too.

2A = 3/4" clean limestone or granite. What is used under concrete, walkways, etc. Allows water drainage.

2B = 3/4" limestone or granite with limestone or granite dust or what we in the construction trades call "modified". Used in driveway construction. Compacts tight

Ah, we call 2a crushed stone (washed or straight) and 2b "densepack" or "crushed gravel" (differentiated from bank run gravel or pure crushed granite, no limestone up here in the Granite State) which is stone mixed with stone dust, both of which comes in different sizes. I am my towns excvation adminastrator (planning board) and deal with bed rock and normal over burden excavations, and am familiar with what our state defines certain products are, but had not heard your terms. Thanks for the info.

I got to see an M59 yesterday at a dealer and I think it is a good improvement to the L48. I know the 48 is a good solid, dependable rig but it has been in dire need of updating. I know that 50g's is alot of money but, the thing has a niche, it is still fairly compact compared to a fullsize rig and it has all the bells and whistles a compact TLB needs. They gave it the flow to run skid steer attachments, hydro tranny, good breakout force numbers at the buckets, creep feature, pto, quick tach buckets, and most importantly the thing will finally load a full size truck. I know a good, used fullsize machine can be had for about the same price, but it's not apples to apples. I think it'll be a very popular machine for a mid size landscaper/ small contractor that still doesn't want to deal with a large truck/trailer combo.

All this information is very interesting and it will be fun to hear the first real life critiques of those who buy this machine.

It's too bad the Case 580C's aren't made anymore. They came with cabs, where less HP then the M's are now and they could have a variety of 3 pt. hitch attachments put on it.

Case also made a 480 and Ford a 445 back in the 70's & 80's. Deere made a utility tractor with a FEL & detachable backhoe, too. It's funny how the young-uns think these machines are so revolutionary. American companies built these machine with cabs 20 years ago.
