Tractor Sizing Kubota M7040 HDC UltraGrand Cab

   / Kubota M7040 HDC UltraGrand Cab #21
I've been running all 4 tires filled on my 75hp tractor for 9 years and on my 32hp tractor for 8 years. No bad effects of any kind that I have noticed.

If this was truly a concern, how is it that most of us have loaders on our tractors and no one talks about all the additional wear from that extra weight or as you guys have mentioned, front end weights? I personally also doubled the front end weight capacity on my tractor and it is still by far less weight than what the loader is, although some of the loader weight is transferred to the rear of the tractor.;)

However, I don't think it's about kubota trying to sell more wheel or suitcase weights nearly as much as I think it is about some attorney flemj2pa

pedal to the metal my friend, your tractor. not mine... rotating weight is different than frame wt. although i still am not convinced of any damage as a result of ft tire loading,..... just differ your opinion to the wisdom of gary fowler...... best, looks like a great setup!

You think that the fluid in the tires rotates?

does the ft tire rotate? :)

Yes it does, but the fluid does not, or very little. Take a jar, fill it 3/4 full. Put the lid on it. Lay it on it's side and roll it, the water does not spin with the jar. It just moves along with the jar, it does not spin to the out side surface.;)

but the weight is there rotating w/the tire as opposed to the stationary wt of a frame wt. maybe this is just a pedantic argument, if so, my apologies my fellow forum member :) regards

Thank you and yes, I think I did get a great deal. I wasn't really in the market at this moment, my plan was to wait until the equipment show in Louisville in February and see what other makes had to offer. But, I couldn't pass this deal up with the Tier III engine, 0% for 60 mo. and a full warranty. I didn't think I'd find anything else that had that many advantages so I bit the bullet and went for the deal now. I've only spent 7 hours in the seat but I'm already convinced I made the right decision.

Brian, that is a serious weight bracket on that 75 hp!!! Is that aftermarket? Are those 100 lb. ea.?

No, I built the weight bracket, weighs around 100+lbs and will hold double the recommended amount of weights. Bracket just hangs on the OEM bracket, drop a pin in and it is locked in place. Install the weights in the same manner as when OEM, install the pin and everything is locked in place. Very simple and easy.

Honestly, I don't even remember what each weight weighs, less than 100lbs though. I know that I sure do prefer to do my field work (disking) without the loader on there. Tractor acts and handles like a sports car without that loader.
