Ya I had two of them and they both did it. Bought them from two different dealers and and both dealers told me it was normal. I don't know, I was sour on the whole deal. They would pretty well fire right off, but then they would sit there and sound like they were running on one or two cylinders for about 15 seconds to two or three minutes depending on how cold it was. I still have a JD 4700 and it starts better than the 5000 series tractors did, but it has other issues.
