I was thinking about getting not only a 3rd function but also a 4th function. That way the 3rd function could be used for grapple attachments and the 4th function could be hooked up to the QA lever. You would not have to leave the seat to change front-end loader attachments. In fact, if I had a cab I would probably never leave the seat; I'd just live there!! Hmmmm.

If you don't want to leave the seat while changing attachments, just buy a Powertrac.;)

I'm at 150 hours on my 7040. So far so good. Just a few minor problems, like a lower "Inteli" panel component that has not worked from day one and a slow internal leak on the FEL bucket curl circut. I will be taking it in during the winter to have these concerns fixed. Otherwize a fine tractor.

one option you did not specify was the air suspension seat. This option is just made recently available and cost about 500 dollars. It comes with built in air compressor. The ride is very smooth and much more comfortable on uneven ground. I also added a swivel plate under the seat so I can sit sideways when using the mower

Are you referring to the Kubota Shockless Ride (KSR)?

"If you don't want to leave the seat while changing attachments, just buy a Powertrac."

Nahh. Kubota's too good to me.

m7040, you are correct. I did not order the air suspension seat. Maybe I'll be sorry, but the standard suspension seat that comes with the cab seemed so comfortable that I couldn't imagine needing it.

The Kubota Shockless Ride (KSR) is actually a hydraulic dampening system that is part of the FEL. I think the idea is that is takes the bounce out of heavy loads in the FEL. I'll be anxious to try it. No delivery this weekend. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.....

The seat option is worth every penny. You will find it bumpy when doing heavy loader work and the air suspension seat dampens that all out very nicely including jerks fore and back

I just hit the 50hr mark on mine. It does everything I hoped for.
Say - the book says to change the Trans oil at 50 - thats about 15 gal - Can I get by w/just changing the filters?

I changed my trans oil at 50 hrs as the manual says all 15 gallons. It is good to protect the warranty coverage in case some things should come up. Keep records so they will not have any excuse for coverage. Love my M7040 as well and is exceeding my expectations
