Mike ,I just traded my m5400 for a new m5700 , all I can say is they are very nice tractors. My dealer sells both kubota and another brand and said go with kubota .I had an L235 for abt 15 yrs. with i don't know with how many hrs. as the hr. meter broke long ago but it had many many hrs of use with 0 problems.I had 0 problems with the M5400 which was a 1998.I use a 6ft bush hog on mine and I only run it at 2000rpm in very heavy grass waist high in low range 4th gear, could go faster but my field is rough in spots and it isn't working hard at all, wish i had the 7 or 8footer.One thing about tractors they all will do the work for you just some may have a few less problems than others over the years ,so pick the one you like best for what you will be using it for and always remember the dealer support you may need sometime down the road.I bought a new, not of the top three brand a few years ago and my dealer went under and left me high and dry, that won't happen again.Good luck with whatever tractor you choose as you are doing the right thing with all your rsearch.
