For landscaping work I don't think you'll notice a difference between the MX4700 and MX5100 in terms of HP. My local Kubota dealer didn't seem keen on even ordering a MX4700 in for some reason but only said they have worse resale value? But at 3000hrs or 15 years old I'd rather not buy a turbo motor, all things being equal.
I'd get the HST too for finicky loader work. IMHO you'd be better of with the 4700 and HST than the 5100 in the geared model, but I only landscape at home.

No need to be afraid of a turbo. Very simple and reliable. A few extra minutes of cool down time is the only extra hassle. If you live much above sea level it will be a big benefit as the engine will not be gasping for air. It also changes the torque curve giving more torque at lower RPM's plus you just get more hp from a smaller engine.

No mo gear drive for me. Hydro or shuttle. I swear I can make more $ by not shifting . Plus I think its safer. I got in a situation a month ago where if I had not shifted at the time I did I would have been upside down

Before buying, I looked at all of them. The MX4700 is a good tractor, but it doesn't have the extendable 3PH arms and a couple of other things.

Don't worry about turbos, they have been used for years on trucks and tractors.

I drive an HST and Hydraulic Shuttle Shift and the HST is easier.

I just recently purchased a MX5100 with LA844 quicktach loader and BH92. The BH adds another $9000-9500 to the price (that is without the hydro thumb). I have been very satisfied with mine so far and the BH is very strong compared to my B20. You mention you are going to use it for your landscaping business, what are you primary jobs? Is the BH #1, then loader, then boxblade, then??? Just wondering because for an additional $5-6k you can get the L45 which is more designed for BH work and is also a commercial grade unit.

Ur replies r a big help! I was actually thinking of not getting kubota bucket on and get the quik attach 2. I want a 4 in 1 bucket. They have em at everythingattchments.com.

A Kubota 4n1 is a nicer bucket IMO. If you are going to get a 4n1, take a look at the one that Kubota offers.

We do landscape construction (french drains, pavers, design, stone work, maintenance, some tree work). I have been debating new tractor or new skid steer. I m leaning more to tractor tho.

I ll chek 4n1 @ kubota.

You already have a mini-excavator then or rent when needed? If doing a lot of drain work the mini-ex will outdig bay far the backhoe.

I ll tell you what I have been using lately. A shovel you slip over your fork lift forks. That thing is a life saver. Its great!....

Put tractor in lo and sink shovel about 3-4 inches into dirt and go.

IMO for that type of work you are just spending extra money for the MX5100 vs the MX4700. For loader, backhoe, grading, etc type work you aren't using much HP. I'd just save the money and go for the MX4700. They only thing the 5100 would be better for is if you plan on a lot of PTO work such as running a bush hog, chipper, snow blower, etc.

Also I personally would rather have a naturally aspirated tractor vs a turbocharged one. It is true that turbo failures are very rare, but when they do go it often isn't pretty. The other thing to remember is that many of these tractor are only being turbocharged nowadays to meet emissions requirements. A few years ago they would have either used a larger displacement engine or just re-tuned the current one.
