Kubota Orange Paint?

The Tractor Supply Co. in Merrimack, NH had two series of spray paint on the shelf. an "OEM" series of which the orange seems to match current Kubota and also a "Restoration" series which might cover the older Kubota but I don't have first hand knowledge on that one.

I have had good luck going to a auto paint supply house here and they can match any paint that I have wanted. The place I go in Manchester, NH is Robbins Auto Parts on South Willow.

They can mix it for you and put it in an aerosol spray can (if you want), pint, quart or gallon sizes, and they even have a CO2 type spay painter that I bought to paint the bug deflector for my pickup truck.

The paint I recently bought from then included the hardener and the thinner so all I had to do was spray it on, no mixing at home.

Worked out great for me!

On the advise of others on this list, I stopped at Tractor Supply Co, and looked at the Valspar paints. They didn't have any Kubota Orange in the "Restoration Series", but the have two Kubota Oranages.

"Kubota Orange", 5339-24
and
"New Kubota Orange", I think the number was 5339-27, I'm not sure.

Anyway, the color on the caps was the same, but I picked up a can of the 5339-24, and brought it home and tried it on a piece of cardboard as a test. It looks pretty close to the orange on my '80 B7100 (which is what I wanted it for).

I'm guessing the "New Kubota Orange" is the darker color my '98 B7100, and my G1800S are.

I know this is an old post but has anyone else tried the rustoleum charcoal gray to paint there ROPS? How did you like it? Mine is getting really rusty.

I used it on some forks I made. I haven't checked it directly against the gray on the tractor, but with a little distance between the gray items it looks ok but a little glossier than the factory paint.

I would be ok with a little bit glossier. It beats dull rust!

Lowe's has this Valspar "Autumn Crush" 65077. It's not their Orange, it is right next to the Orange on the shelf.

Not bad for $3.44 versus $11.50 for the Kubota paint.


As far as the two Valspar Kubota oranges listed on the TSC website, Manufacturers Number: 5339-27 and Manufacturers Number: 5339-24 , which one is the old and which one is the new color? They don't even give you a clue on the website, and the Valspar site is also no help.

I just bought Valspar "Orange" at Lowes. It's a bit lighter of an orange than your Autumn Crush but the only other Valspar orange I saw was noticeably darker than Kubota Orange (I had a cap from an old Kubota Orange spray can with me). May have to go back and check for that Autumn Crush. Haven't used the Valspar cans yet so I should be able to exchange them. I'm using it to paint my very used Woods back blade so it doesn't have to match exactly, but now you've got me wanting to take another look at Lowes. Thanks, I think.

It was right between the orange and the red on the shelf at my Lowe's.

Speaking of the Kubota orange I bought a can to paint a hook that I welded to the bucket and it just dribbled out no nice spray. So I took it back to the dealer to exchange it for a good one. He tried six cans off the shelf and all were the same as the one I returned. He went into the back somewhere and came back with a can with no label on it and it worked perfect. My hook looks great now.

Thanks for the info on the Valspar "Autum Crush" I pipcked some up and it matches **** close to the Kubota Bright Orange II on my freshly painted loader, I however am naturally going to use the Kubota brand paint on my whole tractor once my cab is finished, the coverage and quality of Kubota's paint is exceptional!

I looked at my spray out sample last night under the florescent lights in the garage. Its not exact enough that I would touch up the hood with it, but its close enough to paint an implement to match your tractor.

Actually, this is exactly why I bought the Valspar. Two cans I bought from the dealer last November did the same thing when I went to use them about 2 weeks ago. On one can, I changed the cap for one off of an old spray can I had and I was able to use about half the can before it stopped coming out. Couldn't get anything out of the other can. This was a non Kubota brand paint that matched Kubota Orange - can't think of the brand right now. If the dealer wasn't an hour away, I might have tried to bring them back.

After going to the dealer to get some touch up for some hooks ($16) i went to tractor supply but they do have "old" kubota and "new" kubota orange in stock for just 5.99 a can they also have JD and Blue and the rest.

Exchanged my 3 cans of Valspar Orange for Autumn Crush on the way home from work. Looks to be a better match to Kubota orange. Also, the brand I got from the dealer that wouldn't spray was Tisco Tractor and Implement Enamel. Wonder if they shipped out a bad batch of this stuff to various dealers?

As that Russian comic used to say "What a great country!" (forgot his name). 8+ pages of posts on tractor paint! I love this site.

When I bought my tractor I included a Woods mower in the financing. Although Woods makes implements in Kubota orange, the dealer didn't have one in stock. I gave him a sob story about how my wife would be upset that the implement didn't match (it's true, she's like that). He offered to throw in paint in the deal if I wanted to do it myself or wait weeks for a new one to be delivered. Of course I said I'd do it myself. When the tractor was delivered he had THREE cans of spray paint. I knew it wouldn't be enough to do the job. Anyhow, once I looked at the mower with all the warning stickers, etc. I decided to leave it alone. Wifes still upset. I use the paint for touchups on the tractor. In case anyones interested it's Bright Orange II #70000-73713. You can probably see from my avatar the bucket already needs "touch up". Three cans should do it.

I also tried the Valspar "Autumn Crush" #65077 from Lowe's and my eyes don't see any difference from the original on my BX24. It's now my go to spray for touch ups.

I too use the Valspar Autumn Crush #65077 paint from Lowes, It is a **** near perfect match in my opinion, I only wish they sold it in Quart cans for a spray gun!

For me, as someone noted prior the Kubota paint at TS worked mint...Done for me.
