Kubota Parts, Still Waiting......

Tim,
Can't blame you for being frustrated... not to say we haven't dropped the ball before on keeping follow up to parts but for the majority of parts, (even those that are "back ordered"), they should be able to get them in under the 4 weeks you have been waiting... The dealer should be able to tell you more than "in the pipeline"... like when the part arrived at the main warehouse, when it was shipped, tracking number...
I don't want you to take me wrong. Kubota has been very good with parts, they are just working on making them much better - without having to put added expense on the end user. If it is a problem with Kubota parts... the dealer should keep you up to date... even if it is "the part has still not arrived". No way to keep a Kubota customer happy........ couldn't agree with you more.

The dealer "Backyard Power" in Woodbine Maryland, seems to have a severe problem returning phone calls

Hey Tim, I have also had dealing with BP. I have had the same problems as you. Even when I show up in person, they are all somewhere else and I wait and wait and wait. . .

I've taken to getting parts from Snell and Carver. A little shipping but no gas and no waiting no MD sales tax.

Where abouts in MD are you located? Finch (in Westminster) is a Green dealer, but has an Orange dealship in Hanover PA and they will shuttle parts from Hanover to Westminster if it's closer. I'm located in Westminster.

Het Matt, I'm sure all of us are guilty of dropping the ball once or twice, here or there, but to do it continually the way its happened to me, (and Tim) on the SAME ORDER, over and over.

Mess up and lose the order once, okay maybe, Twice, lets get to the bottom of it, three, four and five times, no way!

If all of their parts are marked up the same, they sure shouldn't have any trouble financing the inventory...recently I needed a hydraulic component to my Kubota backhoe. Price at Kubota...$370.00. Went to one of the website listed distributors for HUSCO, the company that makes a lot of the hydraulic parts for Kubota. They checked the HUSCO numbers stamped on the part, came back that it was proprietary to Kubota and they couldn't get one. Went to another hydraulic dealer, he got the part in a couple of days, same casting number, same everything from HUSCO. Retail Price $95.00. That's about 75% OFF. I rechecked the number with Kubota and a couple of other dealers to see if I had earlier been mistaken. Nope.

I know Kubota has to mark up their suppliers stuff, but if I can buy RETAIL from somewhere else and save 75%?????

I sure would like to know who that "other" hydraulic dealer is. I've tried the same thing you have with no positive results.

Skent,

I am in Kingsville, MD. I am closer to a Kubota dealer in "Hickory" (Hickory Intl), But i always liked BP (Richardsons) better. I did not go to them specifically for this part, but rather, while doing "routine" maintenance, they discovered this broken part. So I was stuck with them repairing it.

As an update. Today (Monday 5-21) I got a call from one of their mechanics who said he was the "Acting" service manager. Their real service manager just up and quit on them. So apparently they have some other internal problems.

Bottom line: my part has arrived and they have my tractor in the shop putting the part on it. I home to have it back by tomorrow or wednesday.

YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT !

I was told by the dealer on Monday that my parts were in and they were working on my tractor. I never got another call. i called them on tuesday and they said they would deliver it back to me on Wednesdat AM. THEN... the bill. I had been quoted $250.00 to do a "Spring" workover, tune-up, oil and filter changes. etc. Then they found a few "other" things. Bottom line..... $850.00. $600.00 MORE than I was expecting.
Well.... they have you by the uknowwhats, so I argued a little and they cut the pick-up and elivery in half. (Big Stinkin deal).

Oh wait, it gets better. They deliver the unit Wed, A.M., gave the papaer for Parts only to my wife, and off they went.
When I got home, I was looking forward to cutting some of my 4 foot high grass (Don't forget they have had my unit for 4 weeks.) NO KEY !!!! Ya, you heard it, NO KEY!

P L U S ... the roll back truck they delivered it with left two big dents in my new $7,000 blacktop driveway. They closed at 5PM so i can't start screaming till tomorrow. I'll fill you in after I talk to the head honcho.

Tim, Sends a chill down my spine. . . . I have had many problems with them. . . parts wise. Never used them for service though. I guess I'd have to think long and hard before I go back there again.

Good Lord Tim! I feel for you /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. There is no excuse for service of that caliber. Good luck with making it right.
