I don't believe that's correct. The overflow from the radiator cap goes to the _bottom_ of the burp tank. That's how it's able to draw coolant back in when it cools w/out aspirating any air.

The barb on the cap goes to an overflow hose that is open at the bottom and drains "overboard". At least that's how it is set up on my BX and GR.

I will have to take a closer look then. That is how our B7500 is setup (with both a dip tube that goes to the bottom of the tank and a vent in the cap, it has 2 hoses that connect to the cap, 3 if you count the dip tube).

Kubota probably thought that people wern`t smart enough to figure it out on their own, so they wasted alot of time and resources instead.

That's the way I read it. Not trivial, but more a user safety issue than a serious engine problem.

There is a pic. that shows the problem by cutting a good part and a bad part. It clearly shows the injected defective part having a bent down horizontal pin and not lining
up with the vertical pin allowing the flash between the area where they are supposed to meet. ( I have 26 years working in injection molding
).

Going to have a look today, looks like a 4mm drill will cure the problem if there is a blockage (11/64 is about 4.3xxxmm)

Pulled it off and is clear so I won't need the new one when it arrives but I am surprised there is no hose into the tank, how does it reticulate what it has emptied into the tank?

As mentioned up-thread: the hose from/to the radiator is at the _bottom_ of the burp tank. The hose on the top is an overflow that dumps over the side.
