Then why state one will cost more to fix than the other? I have no idea what you own, there is an avatar with a Boxcar Magnum with MF and Kubota mentioned with no detail. That does not lead me to several of anything, not that it matters to this topic.

Well I’ll be darned! Here I was thinking my signature had a Kubota M135X with MFWD loader and front suspension, a Kubota M126X with MFWD and a loader and a Kubota ZD331 with a 72” mower. Seems pretty informative as to what I own and detailed for the limited space given for a signature. Do you need to know the hours on each, or when I did my last oil change, too?
I stated one will cost more than the other to fix because obviously one has an enclosed cab with air conditioning, power steering, a transmission and lots more that the other doesn’t. That usually means all other things being equal, that those parts since they’re not found on the other would cost more to fix.

Does that help you understand? Or do you need more detail?
If you own neither piece, then why do you care?
Looking for owners of either piece that can give real world insights based on ownership

Ahh I was looking over to the left. Thanks for the clarification. I work in the service Dept at a Kubota dealership so I though I’d offer my opinion of an RTV and thoughts on how I see them getting sold and generally not having endemic or expensive problems related to poor design or inferior parts and components. I tend to see more than an owner of a single machine. But if my comments don’t matter to you that’s fine, go snap up a belt drive gator and start pushing snow commercially with it.

You’re welcome. Hopefully you’ll do your homework a little better next time and be more thorough before you go off on a 20 year Kubota owner of Kubota mowing equipment, 6 different farm tractors and an L48 TLB.
I’m not snapping up a Gator on an RVT1100 for that matter. I’m asking for owner/operator, relatively non-biased opinions.
Snow ain’t the only task it will perform either.
$4,000+ up front on the purchase savings buys quite a few belts. Hence the comparison. I also recognize the Kubota has more to it as an overall package.
That’s why I’m asking questions and comparing, not “Snapping up” anything.

I didn’t go off on you. Have a nice evening.

If belts were you worst case scenerio you would be doing great. I have a note from 2017, that a JD E-Gator Transaxle, probably without motor or brakes was $11,069.71 Canadian.

Whoa!
Is that a different transaxle than the 6x4?

My 2cents only. i would think that the RTV would be better for residential plowing as I would guess the 6x4 would leave marks on driveways and sidewalks during tight turns. And you'd probably do a number on rear tires..Never owned one, so can't say for sure. As a 11 year owner of an RTV1100 I can say it's a great plowing machine and the HVAC is fantastic along with having a windshield wiper and washer. Radio is pretty cool too. I have the Curtis OEM plow with the electric lift actuator and hydro power angle. Works well for my purposes.

Great info. Thanks didn’t even consider the skid marks left by the locked rear axles!
What has your experience been like with downtime, repairs, parts?
Overall been dependable?

That transaxle is basically an electric golf cart axle. I really wanted to quote what a small splined shaft in that axle cost but can't find it. I think it was around 500 or 700 bucks.

Just a personal opinion and don't take offence. I am not into using this type of equipment for snow removal, especially commercial, but probably the only thing worse would be to buy used equipment. At least with new, if something breaks that shouldn't have, you can go back to the dealer and say, hey, you knew what I was going to use this for, so what gives?

I’ve owned mine since 2002 and have never replaced the belt. I have a brand new one on standby but never needed it.

I used it for many things beside snow, however not as a commercial use tool. Hauled and dumped many heavy loads in the box. It is retired now and lives at the lake to haul beach gear, people and the most work it sees is the annual deer hunt in the UP.

If you are familiar with orange and have success with orange, I would stick with orange.
