KUBOTA RTV PROBLEMS

I just wonder if the "Lemon Laws" apply to off road vehicles. I was under the impression that the law was primarily focused on cars/trucks.

Glad I'm not a lawyer..Most people I know with non "on-road" stuff are left wanting in my experience anyway. Even the Lemon Law is hard to engage in PA.

Unless there are some state statute, there is no "Lemon Law" that applies to equipment.

IMO...for simple process of elimination you should probably remove the modifications you made before the local rep looks at the machine. Non-factory modifications are going to be the first thing they question.

The main source of the federal Lemon Law is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. In 1975.

Congress passed this Act which requires manufacturers of consumer products to provide consumers with detailed information about the product’s warranty coverage. It serves to help prevent manufacturers from using unfair warranty provisions and agreements. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act also makes it easier for a consumer to receive warranty information, review warranty information and bring a warranty case against a manufacturer.

When most people think of the “Lemon Law,” they think of motor vehicles. However, each state has adopted different rules and many state laws and the federal law will apply to a multitude of consumer products... the key word is consumer products... I know of "Lemon Law" cases for garden tractors, boats, jet skis, etc...

I don't know of any relating to products used in commerce.

Maybe personal or commerce use could be determined by whether the item in question is claimed as a business expense on the individual's tax return.

I'm not a lawyer and my only experience hearing Lemon Law cases in in California.

Has anyone had problems with the diff locks not working? I have 3 rtv 500’s all the diff locks failed within first 50 hours. The dealer is denying warranty and quoted 18,000$ to fix

Nope, what was the failure mode? What kind of use did they see?

All three units failed within their first 50 hours while operating on a golf resort in central alberta.
the failure is a hairline crack in the diff Center casting that makes up the contact point for the diff lock.
I haven’t figured out how a hairline crack and surface wear you need a micrometer to measure renders the locker completely inoperable. I also don’t understand how if it was slipping we aren’t able to hear it or feel it contacting every revolution.
Yes I will start a threat good idea!

I must have got a good one. I have hauled a 22 tonne dump truck load up my hills into the bush with mine so far. It actually goes 1 MPH faster with a load on climbing the hill. Only time it slows down is if I have the AC on. That sucks a lot of power. But as has been said with AC on when it starts to loose power, let up on the pedal and it will go faster.
Mine shifts good. The odd time it does get sticky if I am on a hill loaded, I just let it start to roll a bit then shift. No problem. Otherwise mine shifts good brakes on or off.

We serviced the RTV changed all the filters and fluids 2 weeks ago and that didn't help. We got it about 2 months ago and sent it back to the dealer shortly after to get some of these problems fix and he claims there is nothing wrong with it. I cant imagine throwing gravel in one of these machines ,ours would never do that in any gear. Ours would never be able to pull a very steep hill with a full heavy load in it either. High gear is good for flat ground or down hill only. I dont know if this is the newer version or not, the throttle lever seems to have some kind of a plunger control on it.

Guys, we might be talking about gas vs diesel here but....my diesel 1120D doesn't much care if I'm in lo or hi....I use lo on wooded STEEP hills and expect and intend to go very slow. But....I have two semi steep gravel hills on my road and it slows to 9 mph....yes, 9....full throttle, hi/lo. On level with a quarter mile it will get to 30mph. Just saying....it aint no speeder.
