Sandyc,
You can also do it with an electric motor. Here is a link to a post discribing how I did it for my front blower.

Re: Kubota snowblowers

Sandy, can you give me the phone number for Wescotts. I live in Massachusetts but have had no luck in finding a blower locally /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Have one on order since October /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Thanks

Re: Kubota snowblowers

Thanks for the info Tomnky. Made the phone call but he is also sold out with nothing expected in the near future. I've tried Maine to Carolina and nobody has one. I can't believe Kubota will not fill the dealer orders. Looks like I will have to keep on plowing.

Re: Kubota snowblowers

Has Your Dealer called Kubota to see if they can locate one?

For what it is worth, I bought a hydraulic angle blade Which was ordered in September,Along with it I ordered the rubber squeegee that is optional. To this very date I have not received it yet and am told it is on Back-order ,supposedly will arrive the first Part of December!!!!!!!!!!

I ain't holding my breathe /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No Squeegee but i do have the blade mounted and waiting !!!!!!!!!

Re: Kubota snowblowers

I spoke to my dealer today and he advised me that he has already sold double the amount of snow blowers this year as he sold last year. He is over sold by 4 units as of today and added my name to the waiting list for the next shipment. Also advised me that he was placing his order next month for snow blowers for next (2004/2005) winter season. Is seems that the industry is always playing catch up and they don't produce more than they have orders for. Did tell me that he is trading another dealer a tractor for a snowblower. No not a even exchange, just the other dealer gets to buy a tractor from his inventory and he gets to buy a snowblower from the other dealers inventory. He said that he might be able to sell me this snowblower when it arrives....

Sorry, I do not have any photos. It's easy to mark. When you have the shear bolts properly mounted and the PTO in neutral, motor off of course, you can rotate the 1st stage of the blower by hand. The outside of this shaft is hollow as you now now with a solid shaft inside. The two are joined by the shear bolts. As you rotate that 1st stage, you will notice the collar on the enclosure at the end of the shaft does not move. Simply mark or scratch an alignment mark on the collar, non moving, and the shaft.

The next time you need to replace a bolt just match the two marks and the hole inside the shaft will be properly aligned. I find a punch of the proper size, a ballpeen hammer allow you to knock out any remaining pieces of the shear bolt and keep the shaft aligned while you fumble with new bolt. Sometimes inserting a new bolt needs a little encouragement and the hammer helps here too. Make sure you top up the grease inside the shaft from time to time as you lose grease every time you shear a bolt.

Don't worry, you will learn to do it in a snap /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm a bit skeptical... it sounds like he told you that he can't get any more blowers from the factory, he has a waiting list if they do come, but he found one that he can trade for and he will skip his list and sell it to you? Why would he do that? It sounds more like the "perceived scarcity" marketing model to me!

Well, just my opinion, anyway! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
