Kubota- the Harley of Tractors?

Like the old motto goes...let those ride decide..but you should be adult first.

I've been riding mostly independently for 25+ years..no clubs, chapters etc..for I found out its more peaceful also interesting.

If you booze it you lose it,and lets hope it not a limb or two or even your life. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Red face..not to smart, for the damage to the skin also the eyes can be costly over the years.
Lot of riders don't think of the windchill factor...bad news, and if they want a good example..start at the base of Mt. Washington in NH than ride to the sumit, /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif you learn mighty quick. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thomas:
If they do that ride in cold weather chances are pretty good they will not even realize the white patches are frozen flesh. Just when they start to warm up the reality will set in and well as the pain.

Lot of riders don't think of the windchill factor...bad news

I was driving a Kawasaki 900 from Naval Station Norfolk(VA) to Baltimore one mid October (very mild fall day)...must have been 1976. Had the leather jacket, heavy jeans, boots and helmet.
This was going north on Rt.17 (pretty rural then). By the time I got to the Potomac River Bridge it was well after dark...well, my knees and hands were toast (cold toast). Stopped at La Plata (same place the twister hit) for coffee and couldn't get more then 5 to 10 miles between stops after that. Just couldn't warm up...

Reckon it was that long bridge crossing with that cold damp air that did me in.

Been there number of times..cold to the bone..and there were times a nice warm shower didn't help.

If you've spent much time on a bike (Me about 15K miles per year on my 2000 Ultra Classic ElectraGlide) you know that bugs hitting light colored shirts at 80 mph = not so light-colored shirt anymore. :)

Black shirts hide bug marks, etc. and can be worn more than once. The first time I rode with a white tee shirt I got about 15 miles before a Kamikaze grasshopper hit me in the left nipple. Now I wear that shirt with the vest over it to hide the stain.

Buying American is a good thing, but do keep in mind that GM owns 40% of Toyota, Ford owns major part of Mazda, etc. A good percent of your money spent on "Jap" equipment goes to pay the American salesman's commission, mechanics, shop owner profit, teamsters who delivered the equipment from the port, etc.

WE taught the Japs what quality was in the post-war era. Then we forgot it. Now we ***** about it. I'll keep buying what I think is quality/value.

For me that means Harley, Toyota, Kubota, Mossberg, Walther, Braun, IBM, Sony

Mine was a '91 Ultra Classic Electraglide. Light and dark candy ruby....sure do miss it! Didn't have to worry about the bugs much with all that fiberglass in front of you. I had the FLHTC and I remember getting knocked in the knees between the fairing and the lowers more than a few times. I also had a windshield put on that stopped about chin high. I couldn't stand looking through my helmet visor and the windshield too. I used to wear a full face helmet with one of those screens by your mouth that you could open and close. One time I had a rather large bug hit it dead center which strained it into itty bitty pieces just before it entered my mouth. Fond memories./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I do the Rhodie run about every year from Portland, Oregon to Florence on the coast. It is always the weekend before Memorial day.
Seems like every year it is 40 degrees and raining like you know what.
I wear the helmet with a shield just to try to stay warm.
Warm showers and hot Jacuzzi does not help at all. About a case of beer and a lot of Hog talk is about the only thing that warms me up! The next day I always drive up the North Oregon coast. Clears the cobwebs out from the party the previous night!
Nothing like a Harley Party. Part of the mystique.

I wonder now and then if the Hells Angels and other notable groups are finding the new recruits coming in with names like Todd, Davis and Jason. It seems that the Harley around here has turned into the must have Yuppie bike. Fifty plus year olds who always wanted a Harley and experience the wild side of life (a pretty tempting prospect) who are now doing just that albeit on a much less grandeur scale, ie. weekend rides. Rat...

P.S. Why do they make so much noise just to keep up with traffic?

Can't understand why someone would buy a BX2200 when the new BX22 is alive and well. Gess you don't need the BH, must have needed a mower more than a digger. Don't get me wrong the BX2200 is a fine machine. From what I hear it will almost last as long as your hog.

Hogkeeper person, while the BX is a wonderful unit and more than we could even hope for it is hardly a replacement for a BX2200. No, most people do not need a backhoe and a BX2200 can do plenty of work not needing a backhoe, I do not need a backhoe but I did need a small tractor that had a useable FEL, a great mower and plenty of power to work a boxblade, rear blade and small harrows and such. Also, there is quite a price jump, enough that one can certainly look at my other favorite Kubota--the B2410, Kubota's littlest big tractor or is it their biggest little tractor--you decide.
Nothing against the BX22TLB, it is truely marvelous!!!!!! J
