I just realized that the sales guy was correct...

Kubota...the throw away tractor...use for 30 or 40 years then throw away...or is that 50 years?

For me that will be a lifetime of use...by this throw-a-way body!

half the fun of getting a tractor is looking for one and antisaption(?) of getting one. your time will come!!! once u get it it u will have to WORK many hours on it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yesterday I met Ed King [fellow TBNer] for breakfast and later we visited Kioti and Kubota dealers and TSC. At TSC Ed out of the blue asks "What's a herno?" First time I got that question and now here it is again!

Last spring I decided to take a walk with a back pack. Never took a long walk before...decided to walk the pilgrimage route around the island of Shikoku in Japan. Over some mountains, along some coasts, through some cities. A path that has been followed for over a thousand years. About 900 miles and it took about 6 weeks to do.

Anyway, those walking that route are called Henro. Henro means something like pilgrim, in Japanese.

Not sure if "once a henro, always a henro" applies or not /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Bill, now I know "the rest of the story". Amazing how much information I have gotten since I started this my first thread on TBN. My wife thinks I am going over the top. By the way what kind of beer do you brew? I used to do that some years ago. When I get my BX22 I hope it has a can holder in it so I can break it in with a Pale Ale. This of course after it is turned off and keys safely hidden away. I am a safety nut.

Sometimes when speaking about diesel engines a throw away is a block without sleeves. It has a throw away engine That might have been what the salesman ment? Have to give the benfit of the doubt. But then again he might have been trying to play you because of your lack of knowledge when it comes to tractors. That is something you have to be the final judge on.

One thing about tbn that I have always liked is the way a thread will twist and turn. But it always seems to find it's way back to the origanal topic.

If you need any help in deciding what to do with them....just let me know if I can be of help.....I have a John Deere....but I never heard anything bad about the Kubotas in my neck of the woods.Guys at work bragging on the Yamnars...I said I have one under the hood on my JD 4400.

Since I made room for all those "throw aways", no one has dropped one off yet.
Guess I'll just keep playing on my little compact TOY as someone else mentioned.
