My top link has a stroke of 8 inches...I guess one little inch will make that big a difference?
Yea, because you increase the retracted length of the cylinder by 1".
So that in combination of longer stroke gets you 2" more on the full extension.
Keeping nice round arbitrary numbers.....
If you have a cylinder that goes 20" -28"....
A one inch stroke increase it would be 21"-30".
So you loose one inch on full retract, but gain 2 on extend.
Going with 2" stroke increase, you loose 2" at full retract, but gain 4" on the big end. 22"-32"
So yea, a little makes a big difference.
Now keep in mind those arent actual measurements, just nice easy numbers to illustrate the point
