Kubota VS Mahindra Max

Well, good luck with that research. What do you mainly DO with your tractor, I.E. what do you use it for?

I don't actually own the GC1710 yet, Won't be picking it up till mid April. There is a story here, but I typed it out a couple times already. Short story, Didn't close on our home till Nov 1st 2012. I do own an Allis Chalmers B that was lovingly restored and a MF35, Stored up North with my parents where I sold my home before I moved to Syracuse. But they are more toys then anything. Dad did plow a bit of a garden at one time with the B.

At the new home, there is 2 acres of land to be cleared, lawn to create, gardens to till, a duck pond that is in great need of attention. Trees to plant, stumps to remove, driveways to install, foundations and utility trenches to dig, lawns to mow and snow to blow. There are 3 full acres of projects in my future. I plan on spending a whole lot of seat time with the Massey, when I can get my wife off the seat.

Thanks for the info, in any event you will be glad you have a 4x4 SCUT/CUT or what ever you want to call it. Maybe when you get some real seat time with the Massey you will have some interesting comments to make. We all look forward to those. I have sat on a Massey and I like it, the big thing between brands seems to be the ergonomics in the long run. That seems to be an overwhelming factor for purchasing..........nuf said

So why did Kubota take down their video?

Because the finally realized that it was a very bad Idea.

Why was it a bad idea? They have other comparison videos out there.

It was a bad Idea because they were perpetuating a bad comparison between a SCUT, the Kubota, and a CUT, the Mahindra. The Majority of people find that comparison in bad taste. Kubota was simply trying to answer the challenge Mahindra put forth, but it restoked the controversy. It certainly ignited a fire storm in this thread, and sparked off a very distasteful response from Mahindra Don. I don't think Kubota wants that kind of exposure. But, that's just my take on it.

I think its a stretch to say Kubota took down their video b/c they had an issue with the SCUT vs CUT. I've always thought this was a flawed argument. Just look at any class of car, for example compacts. The Honda Civic has been around for 20 years and every new model has gotten bigger and bigger. Is the new Civic now an intermediate car? By your logic it would be. Some one always has to be the first to get a little bigger then inevitably the rest follow. I see no reason to think the same wouldn't happen with SCUTs.

As a soon to be buyer of a tractor I couldn't care less about an arbitrary class designation. I'm looking for the most bang for my buck. If a Max 25 is the same price as a BX2670 that puts them in the same class.

You should buy what you think will work for you. But not every one shares your opinion as far as class distinction. This is all sort of old hat now and boring. But I would be interested in knowing why YOU think Kubota took down the video, if not for the reasons I suggested.
