Kubota Warranty on B2650 3rd Function Remote Switch is really LAME

daveinwestmi - let me know how that goes.... I don't know how mine failed - maybe like yours did? I'm in the woods quite a bit. I think they need a better strain relief system or a wire harness sleeve/grommet over the entire FEL control stick. That would cover up the wiring and prevent snags. I will do that when I fix it. I'm going to look at the switch carefully with a voltmeter and O-Scope when I get it back from the other dealer on the Hydro leak and figure out how to actuate the valve correctly. Then I may either try to fix the thing or fabricate another equivalent switch. It can't be that complicated. I'll post whatever I do for it.

To the OP. I talked to the parts manager, he talked to service and the switch was ordered. A couple days later he called to tell me it was in, asked if he needed to send the tech to install it. Nah I can handle it, all he asked was that I bring the old switch back to him so he would have it in case Kubota wanted it sent back for the warranty claim. I'm sure he will let me know if the claim is denied. So far so good. How did it happen? I'm pretty sure I snagged the harness but in my opinion the harness should run internally in the lever or should be shrink wrapped to the lever which I will do.

Again . . Kubota does not make a 3rd function unit or handle . . but LandPride does. Kubota dealers use and sell LandPride. Kubota has no warranty on LandPride product . . But LandPride does.
Kubota switches are 90 day warranty in some cases. I believe LandPride warranty is 1 year.

Very interesting. I don't recognize the unit . . Its not landpride and its not w.r. long.
Strange they would not use the LandPride as kubota and LandPride are separate entities but linked.

I find it hard to believe that unit has only a 90 day warranty as it looks like an interesting design and quality. And why would they use this unit ??

Its probbaly because its sold as "whole goods" (accessories) vs "replacement parts" and whole goods probbaly only has a 90 day warranty no matter what it is.

Several things come to mind on this

1) When you spend nearly $20,000 for a compact tractor plus a few add ons (like the $850 I spent for the 3rd function remote system) , and a simple part breaks without real use 3 months after purchase, the seller should eat the cost - not me. Kubota is not hurting. I won't forget this
2) The switch lterally fell apart. It's not a very robust piece of HW for heavy machinery. They're bound to have quality issues with other customers.
3) The replacement costs of $125 retail for a simple low current switch is insane. It probably cost them less than $5 to manufacture

Anyway - enuf said. Overall I'm happy with the B2650 . Other than this switch issue and a few simple Hydraulic leaks, it's been a huge productivity adder to working around our property

I know this in an old thread but it proved wonderfully helpful to me. First my button fell off then the whole switch went bad and the third function valve is inoperative without it. With the help of this thread, the fix was simple and CHEAP! Thanks

Thank you for doing the ground work on a work-around fix.
I have the same issue. My b2650 is currently at the dealership for warranty claim. The Dealer told me the same thing. Kubota wont fulfill a warranty claim... Long story short, Ill be picking up my tractor and wiring up my own "Amazon" switch. Very unhappy with Kubota on this whole ordeal, which is unfortunate, because I love my tractor.

So not quite two years later the second Kubota switch fails. Not paying for another switch and harness at about $170.00. I pulled the switch and found I could buy an OEM NKK switch from Mouser Electronics for $24.00. I went with the bright green light. Soldering it in is a little fiddly since the terminals are small and close together but other than that it's an easy install. You can wire so button up is on vs button down on if you desire

I know an old topic, but one of my buttons is now missing (bottom one) and looking for a replacement, do you have any pictures of your install and how has it held up?

Anyone else have solutions?
