  I want to put it out there if any other members who have kubota tractors under factory warranty. If they had have denial of service for warranty work because one attempts to have the warranty work performed by a dealer that you did not purchase the tractor from. I am told that Kubota will not pay an authorized kubota dealer for warranty repairs if they are not the selling dealer. My owner's manual under the warranty. Section states that the tractor can be serviced under warranty at any kabota dealer. Do any of you have comments about this? I think it's a big problem.
I just got charged $550 for a service tech. To travel. 18 miles to come to my farm to do at HST fine calibration because the factory stated workshop manual procedure was incorrect so I couldn't perform it myself. And the technician took 2 hours to figure out how to get it to work and I was charged for it because the dealer that I purchased the tractor from was a 175 miles away or 4 hours and. They would not service the tractor or offer any suggestions on how to properly set it up.

Any dealer can do warranty repairs,but you are responsible for transportation to the dealer.
That has been my experience with Massey Ferguson as well.

There is a LOT wrong with this dealer's treatment of you as a customer and it is utterly unrelated to where you bought the machine. It may feel awkward at times having another dealer who did not sell the tractor do the warrantee repairs, but they have no choice as a dealer. I have preached this many times but GET THE REGIONAL SERVICE REP INVOLVED. The dealer cannot dare refuse to provide you with contact info for that regional rep and it is his job to mediate these kinds of situations. Everyone involved may have to bend a little, but you are entitled to service and fulfillment of the warrantee provisions. Period. Push comes to shove that dealer is vulnerable to having his dealership pulled from under him acting like that. The regional rep is usually a great referee in such situations AND has serious clout when it comes to who pays what. He is really judge and jury.

In many ways this forum is like the Better Business Bureau in these haggles. If it does not get better you need to deal direct with Kubota and the regional rep even more and follow that with an actual Better Business Bureau complaint if need be.

The selling dealer MAY come out or pickup a machine for warranty work, but that would be a value added service not required for warranty work.
I would not expect a non selling dealer to come out on their dime to perform warranty repairs.
They do, however, provide warranty service when the machine is delivered to the facility...

Were you not informed beforehand if you were going to be charged for the work?
If you didn't sign anything nor were informed about being charged I don't see why you should pay.

I have had one instance of warranty work done on the M6040. A service tech came out and installed a heavier duty step. The step used to get up into the tractor.

I only knew of this because I got an email - after the fact. They were trying to schedule a time when I would be home.

The tech came out - installed the new step - no charge.

This is what you should expect when dealing with an honest dealership.

A 50 mile round trip for the service tech.
