Well, I see the first thread (or was it the second) is already locked. Someone mentioned on it that the thread should probably be deleated as well. I think I'll agree.

Mark45, In my opinion, neither JD, or NH, or Case, or anyone else would have replaced the parts on CW's BH under warranty. If you have come to the conclusion by talking to the dealer that JD would have - and if that makes you feel in some way safer, then you should by all means buy the JD. However, my dealer warned me NOT to even add hooks to the bucket on my FEL. I think it was good advice as I can accomplish the same thing using straps. It seems to me, that my Kubota dealer understood what was and wasn't allowed under the Kubota warranty. I'd strongly suggest you contact someone at JD other than the dealer and ask for clarification on your intended uses and modifications. I'd also ask for it in writing - however I'm pretty sure nothing said or written will over ride the language in the JD warranty. Good luck with what ever course you decide to follow.

I forgot to mention I applaud your research effort. That is a smart thing to do and glad to hear that Kubota knew of CW and his troubles. I should think that if you ask the question from any manufactuer that if you abuse a piece of equipment manufactuered by them, the expected response will always be no, if on the other hand you are digging out a stump with as much caution as say a cobble or root in a trench you happen to be digging and they call that abuse, theres a problem. I would say Kubota was justified in voiding a modified backhoe even if it was just a thumb being welded on. On the other hand, digging out a stump and calling it abuse, I'd like to know more and why it was considered abuse. Rat...

Regardless of the posts by CW and the rather derogatory remarks by other Kubota owners...

Mark45,

If I was from the right state I would say show me...but since I'm from Pennsylvania I will just say show me!.

I read that thread too...and think only those with skins as thin as onions would find the responses to CW derogatory.

Man...my skin must be thinning as I age...but this stuff about Kubota owners abusing CW is getting old. I wish I wasn't a Kubota owner...so my view would have more weight!

And as RAT says...good for you for looking into the warrenty issue. As others have said...in the end, warrenties are warrenties and when it is all over, color probably doesn't matter. Modify the equipment, fail to perform proper maintenance...whatever...and you might be surprised when you have a claim, whatever the color...

Personally, I had one small warrenty claim on my b2910 Kubota. It was a judgement call. I might have done the damage. But I might not have. It was fixed by Kubota. The dealer covered pick up and delivery. I still don't know if it was my fault or not...

Maybe we need a "Did you have your repair covered by warrantee, OR NOT? " thread... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wish CW would come back, but if his attitude was the same I would still tell him to... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry, I guess I worked too many years with real people in the real world... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Some of you have been very helpful and, I will perform more due dillgence. But I am amazed at the rest of you that think a post like this should be pulled.

I thought this was about finding information to make a buying decision. Apparently, the only thing allowed on this group is "cheerleading". I have done my research on something that was posted and I might add deleted. It has opened my eyes and, I dare say a few other potential buyers. Yet, the old timers here just want to delete anything they don't agree with or offends their brand loyalties.

This is the worst type of elitist censorship I’ve seen on a internet board. People need to know about issues that others have had to make a fully informed decision and yet this group wants to take that away. Why?

This is a common complaint, too many censored items. I for one think only foul language, unauthorized advertising or other serious infractions need to be erased. If something is getting out of control "lock it down" so no new posts can be added to the thread. Only delete threads in the worst scenarios.

That's what other boards do but they use it SPARINGLY.
