Might be a good place to go shopping then. Because in my area, used Kubotas are kind of scarce, except for the dealers who received them in trade on bigger ones, and the used ones that I have seen have some pretty high prices on them.

Bird is correct. The question is why they are selling them. Maybe the want to move up, or to go from gear to HST. Maybe from small farming operations going under and selling assets (I hope not, but a lot has been articulated in the press on the demise of small farms under pressure of large conglomerate farms). Wouldn't draw any positive or negative conclusion. Inquire to a couple of sellers as to why.

There's a fair number of used Kubota's for sale here in VA. I've asked a couple of dealers about it, and they're all trade-ins on HST's. My dealer, who is not a very large one in the grand scheme of things, has 3 used GST's for sale right now, all of them from folks he sold HST's to.

Mystery solved. For around here, at least. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I see a lot of used L4310 and L4610 HST's around for sale. I guess after the new L5210's came out there was just no point to keeping the older ones, since Kubota abandoned the HydrAstatic trans and went with the HydrOstatic trans and engine design that is lubricated with ordinary tap water. I do hear these guys arguing at the dealer now and then though. Apparently there is some benefit (not yet proven) that running harder water (with a high chemical content, iron, sulphur, manganese etc) has a beneficial effect. Apparently Amsoil (or is it Amway) is coming out with this in bottled form. Sounds good to me.

PS...there's probably a lot of used Kubota's around because they work a long time and are still in sellable condition. I still see a lot of 2Ns, 8 and 9Ns for sale too!

For those who haven't seen the light of HST maybe it's just that they've got their money's worth out of their Kubota and it's still got enough life in it for a second owner, third owner, fourth owner.......

Del - I was a tad upset about the L5210, especially considering all my modifications, but was very relieved that I can upgrade my L4310 to the L5210 for $875, excluding decals (an extra $25). So, I've got just a little over 8 months to come up with the cash. With that much lead time, I should even be able to get the decals.

Mark, you've got to do your homework, you may be able to get that upgrade for $875 but that's only the base model. The L5210-C is the one you want, that's the one with the two cupholders, that conversion is about $1400, but I've heard Carver will let you do it for $1200.

Del - I guess I'll have to take on a second job - I've got to have those cupholders.

I can't wait for the L7210SS(racing stripes and hood scoupe) and the L10210LS(leather interior and power seats/windows)!!!
