Kubotas in the low/mid 40hp range

I'm a little late to the thread, but to answer the OP main question as to L4600 vs L4740 vs MX4700.....

There aint much difference. The MX spec wise is about the same as the L4740, only without some of the fancy features and with slightly larger tires.

The L4600 is smaller and about 500lbs lighter than the other two. It also has a weaker FEL. All-in-all, it is a smaller frame tractor with larger tires to make it look like the size of the L4740.

IMO, if a mid 40HP tractor is what you are after, they will ALL do what you want. The L4600 being the lightest and smallest, also makes it come with the smallest pricetag as well.

Wow, I'm a little skeptical of that one, but I just emailed him.

To the op:
I apologize if this thread got a little derailed.

Agree it is a bit too good a deal to be true. Worth checking though.

Hey, no problem, I'm learning with every post.

Carl

Carl another feature that many enjoy of the grand L hydro Plus is the anti stall when using the loader. It makes a beginner look better then many a pro!

I sometimes wonder knowing that with the loads that Kubotas pick up and seeing what happens with the front tires, how the other makes haven't had to go to solid tires to keep them from rolling off the rims with the claims of so much lifting ability.

Do non HST plus Kubota's have a stalling problem when operating the loader? I've stalled my Kioti a few times mowing but don't ever recall stalling while using the loader. I set the engine to run at about 1800rpm and just go to work. What does the anti stall do?

Regarding front tires: here is my DK lifting a 2000lb (12cu/ft) granite boulder balanced at the tip of my grapple. Load is centered about 3.5 feet from the pivot pins. Tires look OK to me. 10x16.5/6 R4s on the front.

I dug the rock out of the ground accidentally as I only saw the tip sticking out and was not aware it was so big. I grasped the tip and curled/lifted and this is what came up. I am not sure how much higher I could have lifted it but the seat of my pants told me to stop despite having a backhoe mounted for ballast. I doubt I could have lifted it to full height but probably could have put it in a pickup. Moved it about 100 feet and put it down.

Piston, check out Boston Craigs List: 2007 KUBOTA M7040DTC 4WD w/ LA1153 Front Loader 660 HOURS - $15000 (boston)

Great deal and it sure has a nice loader.

Just so everyone knows....this is obviously a scam (as many are)
Here is the reply I got.

Hello,
This tractor has absolutely no mechanical problems, the engine has no leaks or problems.
I am letting it go with shipping and handling included. The unit is now in Augusta, ME, ready to be delivered to its buyer with all the documents.
Because I am not able to close the deal myself( I work a lot, 12 hours daily),Iwant to use a third party to handle the sale. This way we are both protected.
Let me know if you're interested and if you have questions.
Thank you,
Jessica

What looks too good to be true usually isn't. Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase.

That tractor would have solved your loader problems nicely though!:D

It sure would have! And don't be sorry, it was fun daydreaming for a few hours :D

Another member on here turned me on to my box blade and I thought it was too good to be true, turned out to work out very nicely! As you said it's worth checking out
