L 2900 GST

After looking for months and diliberation between John Deere and Kubota, I finally bought a Kubota 2900 GST yesterday with about 1,000 hours on it. It has the Kubota FEL on it and a 5 ft shredder. I have owned JDs in the past, but have many friends with both JD and Kubotas and both brands seem well respected. IT has a few scratches on it, but it appears to have had a pretty good life thus far. I plan on chnaging the engine, trans and front axle oil right away before I put it to work.

I have had standard transmissions in the past, so the GST transmission is a little different for me. I ordered an Owner's Manual last night online and I look forward to learning more about this rig.

Can you guys give me some feedback on pros and cons of this rig and transmission ? Is there anything special I should be aware of or concerned with on this model ?

You should be fine with your new 2900. The GST is easy to use and convenient, although for precise movement, I use the clutch instead. This is a workhorse and you should be happy with it.
