The sales man told me he does the woods BH with cab often. but warrinty will not cover if it breaks due to the after market hoe. He claims he has never had a problem. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif do I belive him. that is the question.

The Woods hoes are well-engineered, widely used, and get good reviews from their owners. Plenty of Kubota tractors with Woods hoes on them... probably as many or more than have OEM Kubota hoes. So, that would not be a cause for me to worry.

If the Kubota dealer is selling you the Woods BH, as many dealers do, he'll have every reason to make sure it's a good installation since you are his customer for the whole package.

You probably need to ask yourself what you plan to do with that backhoe. If you will be making reasonable use of it using sound judgement, it's very unlikely that you'd ever bend, break or wound the tractor in any major way that would bring on a debate with Kubota about the warranty.

But if you are a wild man who abuses the equipment and has big plans to put this into heavy commercial use (no offense... I don't know you and this is all hypothetical /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif), then warranties could become an issue.

If your dealer has done these installations, he'll probably be happy to give you the names of some customers that have bought the Kubota/Woods combination. They will probably give you their experience and may even let you come over to check it out.

I traded up from an L3710 to a 5030HSTC this spring and the dealer sold me a new mount for the backhoe. My Woods 9000 fits and works just fine with the cab though it is perhaps an inch or two higher then the old "gun carriage" style mount. This is a great combo and should serve you well. I work on my 10 acres and am also caretaker for an adjoining parcel of 800 acres.

I found one. There is a 5030 3 hours from me, I plan on a good look this weekend. I have my JD 4400 and loader spoken for, I wish my 48 hoe would fit a 5030. I could not that lucky could I.
I will post prices later

Were is the best for the money place to get a snow blade that attaches to the loader (skid steer compatable) I looked at curtis theres are alittle over 2K. are there any ours I should consider?
Will a 5030 pull a 3 bottom plow? 14's or 16's.
is it worth getting draft control. I think it would since I will be useing it to work ground.

If you have a few acres to work, you probably have enough hp and weight for a 3 bottom, depending on the soil, but most people step up to a larger, gear-drive, ag tractor if they plan to do any extensive amount of plowing or similar ground engaging work. While your HST excels at loader work, mowing, general use, etc., it's not the best choice for such continuous pulling work. The GST transmission, while not quite the luxury of HST, is a nice compromise if you need to do a lot of pulling.

I only have 6 acres tillable, most of the time well be loader and hoe use. I would still need to get into small places a ag tractor will not fit into easy. I think the 5030 would be the right size for my needs.

DDT. I remember asking about draft control and the price did not seem unreasonable. I just did not see myself plowing that much and will get a tiller in the future instead.

I have used a 14" MF 3 bottom plow with my 5030 HST this past spring. I only turned about an acre, but it was ground that hadn't seen a plow in about 30 years. I have a fair number of baseball to soccer ball rocks, but no clay. The tractor did fine once I got the plow adjusted properly, even with the R4 tires, and I didn't even realize I only had the rear wheels pulling until I was almost done. I don't have draft control on mine, so I had to do some feathering with the 3 point lift over some uneven spots but I wouldn't hesitate to use this combination for a limited amount of plowing. If I was plowing much acreage I would probably want my M4900 with draft control back, but the 5030 HST / 3 bottom plow combination should be fine for up to 10 acres or so (of course if you are in heavy clay or something like that it might be a different story).

Hope this helps,
-Chuck

Thanks for your input. I do not have any clay to work but do have a 2-14 plow if I get into harder ground.
Does this sound like a good price
