My dealer has probably sold 100 of the L3400's and quite a few L2800 and they have had no complaints. They did not know about the problem but were caring enough to take care of it and got on the phone with Kubota and they diagnosed the problem without evening tearing down the tractor. Try to get them to phone Kubota and they should be able to take care of it.

Thanks, but I did not see anything there I did not already have. Still looking for the serial numbers for L2800HST with the good three point valve.

I see what you are saying , don't know that one , everyone has just said that either it has been replaced or that theirs was replaced before they got it .
Good question though .

I have a L2800 with the jerky 3 point. My salesman and the service department swear they have never before had a complaint or heard of the problem. I am trying to get a little more informaiton to confront them with. Is there a Kabota part number for the new valve? Is there a serial number that from that point on has the new valve and before that you have the old valve?

Thanks very much, meant to check on my # last night. I bout my L2800HST in Dec 2006 and I will see tonight. But when I got off it last night the 3pt was jerking like crazy so I think I already know. Appreciate your help very much.

I sent an e-mail to dealer and Kubota customer service last week.
Reply:
Kubota dealer was able to have the Rep's O.K for Kubota to furnish new valve at no cost, but I will pay for Labor (and pick and delivery of tractor unless I get it to them on my own).

Labor est. 3 hrs. - + , $350.00

(Cushioning Valve $400.00 - +)


The Rep still describes L288 and L 3400 as having "Inching Valves"

Replacement scheduled for next week, hoping to have dealer operate with a post hole digger attached before and after replacement.

Interesting having to pay for labor. I got mine replaced about a month ago for free. My dealer is nice enough that they may have eaten the labor and not charged me and never said anything about it as I have complained about this problem since I took delivery in Dec 05. I waited about 20 months before taking it back due to fact that I wanted to make sure I didn't have any more problems. Dealer is 1/2 hour away and I have to pay someone to tow it back and forth each way.

Either way, it is worth it and the rear hydraulics are completely smooth!

Now , when did the problem start exactly , i mean what serial number is the actual start of the 3 point valve fiasco ?
We know the ending Serial #s , was it the first L2800 when it began ?

It also seems a bit of a stretch to take three hours to replace that valve. It might take me three hours, but a professional mechanic with the right tools and an actual shop?

It's too bad we as consumers don't have access to the kubotas chilton book labor hr rate or if there is such a thing with these machines.... I think their just winging it on the time frame time.
